Write On!
Funded Apr 19, 2021I absolutely LOVE these Lakeshore journals! They are always a hit with my students! We've used many of them in the past and with each journal they have been engaged and successful! I have a variety of diverse learners in my classroom and it can sometimes be a struggle for some students. These journals will help guide those kiddos that are having difficulty either with generating ideas, sentence structure and organization. They will also be beneficial to my stronger writers who could write when completed with an assignment or for fun!”

Grow And Glow!
Funded Apr 22, 2021My kiddos are going to LOVE these glow and grow terrariums!!! I was so excited to see especially on Earth Day that these were funded!! How cool will it be for each kiddo to receive their own terrarium! Teaching them about life, growth, and plants! I cannot wait for them to explore and learn all about plant life with spring in full effect! It is so important to immerse them with hands on activities! Its such a great way for them to learn and that knowledge to always stick with them! Thank you so much for this fun experience!”

Or am always thinking about how I can make a lesson fun. Kids to to interact with others as well as the resources they are using to learn! These phonics journals are perfect for teaching them the foundational skills they need for reading but in an engaging way! Whether they are flipping, moving and or sorting its keeping their attention! Thank you so much for you generosity!”

Writers Get Ready!
Funded Apr 14, 2021I am so pleased to see that this project got funded!!! These writing folders are going to make a huge difference for many of my students. It is important to teach children to be good writers and these folders will greatly help them remember each stage of the writing process. It is so helpful for the students who needs a little more guidance. The writing center is so fun!! They will love blindly picking the characters, setting, and plot. My students who need a bit of a challenge will definitely enjoy this activity!”

Fidgets To The Rescue!
Funded Apr 7, 2021Fidgets, fidgets, fidgets!!!!! I am so excited that this project was funded! Many of my students will most definitely benefit from these materials. Stress, anxiety, nervousness, ADHD and ADD can be a big distraction for some kids. These fidgets are perfect for these students during class time. If they need a break or need to be redirected these fidgets will be perfect for them. Whether they pop, squeeze or bounce it will give them that relief they need to continue on to what more important and that their school work!”

Funded Apr 7, 2021Yay!!! A Safe place for our books!!! This is truly such a great project that was funded! These baggies will be perfect for storing their independent reading books. We try to promote reading in any way that we can. So my students should ALWAYS have one or two books with them at all times. These baggies will keep their books in a safe place along with any guided reading papers that is needed for future lessons. No more wasting time looking for their materials either. They also will safe the life of a book! Thank you so much!”

Funded Apr 7, 2021When projects get funded it is so exciting! Teachers have so many visions and goals of projects and lessons that they want to do with the class. When materials and resources get funded it is so exciting because now we can implement these activities!!! These blank books are going to have so many uses! STEM and STEAM is a lot of fun in my classroom these books can be a great way for them to write down their thinking and questions. We do a lot of Social Emotional activities that require them to write, draw and reflect! Thank you for brining these possibilities to my class!”

Social Emotional Learning is especially important with what everyone has been through this year even for adults! Every morning I engage my students in some type of social emotional. Whether it is a full lesson, center activities or a read a loud we are working on growing our mindset. These journals will be another great resource for my students to use to continue to work on our mindsets!”

I am always trying to connect literature to any holiday, season, social emotional, and theme. These books will be a great edition to teaching students about our new president and vice president especially. March is Womens History and these books will be wonderful to read to the class about these amazing womans experiences like Kamala Harris. Thank you!”

Feel Good Snacks!
Funded Mar 17, 2021Wow! I can't thank each and every donor enough for all of your donations and support! Thinking about our NYC students and making sure they're fed is so amazing. Many of our population relies on being fed at school. School is where they are guaranteed breakfast and lunch. We often have snack time to refuel and take a quick. These snacks will be such a great surprise for them when the boxes arrive. Munching on some of their favorite snacks during the day is a great energy boost. The will be so happy and we are all thankful!”
