The goal of this project is to create a positive learning environment in order for my students to feel that they can be successful this year. Throughout the year, the students will be researching information on topics of their choice. This information will be collected and annotated in their science binders along with other coursework. We will be referencing the work of past scientists of color so that my students can see themselves in the curriculum. We need chart paper and markers which will allow students to have visual aids in their presentations and in their learning throughout the year. Poster putty will be used to display keywords, anchor charts, scientific methods, and laws that the students will learn. Using these visual aids combined with discourse over the year about their selected topics, the students will be able to present their own research!
