F.P. Caillet has a population of about 700 students. 95% of the school's population is Hispanic, and around 90 % of our students are at-risk or economically disadvantaged. Despite these numbers and the reality that they represent, according to the TEA Accountability System for 2013, our school gained distinction in three areas (2012-2013): academic achievement in reading/ELA, academic achievement in mathematics and Top 25 percent student progress. Despite our disadvantages, our school had a Student Effectiveness Index (SEI) in the 99th percentile. Yet, there is very little budget for classroom materials.
