  • We Believe in our Shelves!

    Funded Apr 9, 2022

By providing our students with shelves for our classroom library, our students are now able to find the books and categories that they are looking for. We started our classroom library this year, thanks to you we can now organize our books much better.

Our goal to obtain funding for shelves that will allow students to easily find the books they are looking for while providing space to add to our collection over the coming years was made possible by your generosity. We hope to see a greater increase in reading interest and allow our students access to any type of book that they please. Thank you so much for making this possible.”

  • Help Create a Positive Learning Environment

    Funded Mar 12, 2022

Thank you so much for the bobbleheads and other seasonal decorations to make our classroom a more exciting, welcoming space. The decorations in this project aren't your usual, boring posters about participles and infinitives. They are colorful, exciting, and out of the ordinary. Welcoming classroom environments encourage students to come to school, and they are more conducive to productive learning. I want to create the best possible classroom for my students, and I deeply appreciate your help that made this happen! Thank you for your amazing support!”

  • Sensory Support for Some Super Special Students!

    Funded Feb 20, 2022

I teach students who have autism and other sensory disorders. Often their sensory needs come first before learning can happen. We are teaching our students to use sensory items to help improve focus, regulate challenging behavior, and create a sense of well-being and peace in my classroom. My students process sensory information differently than most neurotypical people. This might mean they need more sensory input to be alert and able to work in school, or they might need less sensory input to keep them calm and focused. These lights will impact the well-being of my students for years to come. Thank you for all your help!”

  • Holidays Throughout the School Year

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

My students and I love celebrating holidays throughout the school year. St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. We like to do something special for each holiday.

Having these supplies will help my students and I need what we would like to have to celebrate St.Patrick's day and Easter. Being able to celebrate these holidays for all makes a lot of fun for the students and it ties in with bigger projects at that time such as reading for comprehension, working with others, learning about other cultures, etc. Thank you so much for making this possible and for making a difference in the lives of our students.”

  • Toppling Dominoes for STEAM

    Funded Feb 20, 2022

Designing patterns for toppling dominoes uses color patterns and counting. Thanks to you our students will work together to design the dominoes. Building is a collaborative effort that supports social skills in the classroom. The dominoes will be used for different stem activities and they are also great math manipulatives.

Thank you so much for helping to make this possible for my students. Not only this year but these items will be used by many different students for many years to come. You are amazing and are making a big difference in the lives of my students!”

  • Staying Hydrated Is Important!

    Funded Jan 30, 2022

This school year is a little different than most. We can't share materials or water fountains anymore. Thank to you my students will have water bottles so they have water readily available all the time.

Having water bottles all day will allow our students to stay hydrated and healthy.

Many of my students are unable to buy a water bottle of their own, or they use a disposable bottle over and over again. Thanks to you we are able to give everybody a water bottle of their own. Thank you so much!!”

  • Cool Enough for School

    Funded Jan 12, 2022

Our students are in school in another year with masks. My classroom isn't that big but will be filled up with lots of students. These students will be in classes for 5 hours at a time, wearing masks, and trying hard to learn 9th-grade subjects.

Thanks to you, we now have these fans that will help promote a comfortable environment for students to learn in. This school year my students are learning in a classroom setting that is typically hot and humid. These fans will help regulate the classroom temperature. The physical environment can single-handedly be a reason a student is unable to succeed. The fans will help regulate the temperature in the classroom to prevent distractions from learning course content. I want to create a classroom environment that the students enjoy coming to instead of dreading due to unmanageable heat.

Thank you so much for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. S

  • Organizing Our Classroom

    Funded Dec 7, 2021

It will be very beneficial for our students to be able to store their activities, supplies, classroom tools, and other items we have in clear bins and drawers for safe and organized keeping. For students, being organized is particularly important since it helps them learn how to prioritize activities, set and achieve goals, and reduce stress. Having good organizational skills also makes it easier to collaborate with others and helps increase productivity and efficiency. Thank you so much for making this possible. You are amazing!”

  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Support

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for funding our project for incentives for PBIS positive behavior support. Many kids struggle with behavior in school. When schools react only with punishment, students don't learn the skills they need to improve. That's where positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) comes in. PBIS is a proactive approach schools use to improve school safety and promote positive behavior.

The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment. According to research, PBIS leads to better student behavior. In many schools that use PBIS, students get fewer detentions and suspensions. They also earn better grades. There's also some evidence that PBIS may lead to less bullying. Thank you for making a change in the lives of our students.”

  • Everyone Needs a Great Book!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

My students love to read and talk about books! They love exploring new genres, meeting new characters, and writing book reviews to recommend books to their peers! Thank to you we now have more books and graphic novels to review and recommend! These books and graphic novels will add choice and variety to the classroom library my students love! Our classroom library has some books I've managed to collect over the last 10 years. Thank to you, my students need more titles and some graphic novels to choose from when they are looking for independent reading books. Thank you so very much!”

My students and I are in a school just outside of Philadelphia. My students are a great bunch of kids that have a lot going on on an emotional level. They often have a lot of drama going on behind closed doors that few people know about. All they need is somebody to take the time to listen to them. Because of their background, they often have a lower reading level than what their grade level indicates. Most are better learners when they are taught differently than only from books.
