I teach Four-Year-Old-Kindergarten in a large urban public school district in Wisconsin. Our entire district receives free lunch. My 25-30 students attend full-day K4. I have some special needs students who receive speech and language services and roughly 10 students who come to school speaking little or no English. In my classroom the children learn Spanish as a Second Language (Foreign Language) that I integrate into all subject areas. My school has wonderful parents who participate in their child's educational experiences and value education as an important part of their child's success in the future. The Special Education teacher and I work together and integrate our students as much as we can throughout the day. Because my K4 program is "Board-Funded" and K4 is not required by Wisconsin law, we receive no additional funds for supplies or field trips. I have the best job in the world!
