To Succeed, You Have to Read!
Funded Mar 3, 2020I want to thank you all so much for helping to give the gift of reading to my students. Books truly make such a difference in children's lives. Getting books that excite students, and helps to create life long readers. Reading fuels their imagination and gives many of them an escape from life's problems.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I haven't been able to get the books into the hands of the students yet. Our state shutdown schools before the books arrived. While the kids didn't get to read the books themselves, I read many of them online so they could enjoy them. I did Facebook live readings several evening a week, it was very successful. I will be doing the same thing this year on our county's learning platform.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and kindness. You are making a difference!”
With gratitude,

Funded Mar 29, 2016The materials that you helped my library receive were put to use right away. With each new box that would arrive the students would get excited, and couldn't wait to see the items and try them out. Several class periods were used just to let the students have some free discovery time using many of the learning resources. It was amazing to watch students from pre-school through 5th grade dive into electronics, simple machines, building, and more.
Using many of the materials the students have created solar powered cars, machines, sundials, robotics, etc. Some of the students used some of the materials for science projects in their regular classroom.
Students are currently using the materials provided to engineering building bridges. It is amazing what a project such as this can do for a student. It allows students to showcase different strengths that you may never have observed before.
The learning materials are being used by the whole school, not just my classroom. The impact from your donation is larger than you realize. My students thank you, my fellow educators thank you and I thank you.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. BJ Fontalbert
