Thank you so very much for all the donations. Almost all of the soundproof headphones ordered are in use in student classrooms, the kids have great working headphones to use with their computers. I have been able to create laminated social stories and math mats. The sand toys and sand have been a break time favorite. The kids are loving the ice cream and treat sand toys and are often offering sand ice cream treats to us teachers while they take well earned breaks in my classroom. We are all so very grateful for the generosity of all the donors and Donor Choose. Thank you!”
Thank you so much for your donations. The printer has been used so many times already to print visuals supports, worksheets, scan documents and such. So far it has made the beginning of the year run smoother. The coil spiral binder has also helped me create teachers guides and bind social stories for students to use in my groups and in their classrooms. The support of Donors Choose has always provided a positive impact on my classroom, my ability to provide differentiated instruction and on my students. Thank you all so much.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Rousseau-Pierce

Thank you so much for your donations to my classroom and students. It has been really nice having the refrigerator in the classroom. I am able to store big bags of cheese sticks, beef jerky, left over milks or smoothies from breakfast, and teacher lunches. It has has made a huge difference in my ability to provide healthy snacks and food to my students. The added benefit of having a mini freezer attached has been amazing. I have one student that loves to chew on ice or drink ice water. Having the ability to make ice ready to go has been great. I look forward to the summer when we can make our own popsicles and freeze them in my classroom.”
Thank you all so very much for your donations. My students were very excited for all the new items. They use the calm down tent often and enjoy meetings and games on our new rug. The lighting and light covers helps set a calming mood when they're working or trying to regulate. The group bins and smaller containers are very helpful with keeping items organized for learning groups or breaks items. They allow for quick access and easy clean-up. The curtain is very helpful when we need to close off the social/calm area. The sand timers heave been very helpful with breaks or work times, especially with my time sensitive kiddos. We are also putting to use the Velcro to make schedules, break cards, and zone out work and play areas.”
Thank you for your donations. All the supplies have made a great impact on my students and classroom. They were all excited to get highlighters that erased, new whiteboard markers and erasers. My 5th graders loved the bookmarks. One of my students has struggled a great deal to stay calmly seated and the foot wheel has really helped them remain seated and stay focused while still learning. All of the students were so excited when the materials arrived. It was like Christmas for them. They helped me unbox them with excitement. They love the new lighting and all said the light covers make the room so much easier to learn in. They wanted to try everything out even if they personally didn't need them. It was very exciting for them. Thank you again for providing the necessary tool for a calm and productive learning environment.”
In our Extended Resource Room we share a room with two other teachers that run Title 1 reading groups. At some points in the day we have three small groups (3-6 students each) running at the same time. Many students are struggling to reacclimate to various distractions that they did not encounter during virtual learning the last year and a half. Our students are so happy to be back in school and are needing tools and supplies to help them be successful in the classroom environment.
We are currently asking for help in building a rich assortment of supplies and tools that will help each individual student reach their personal academic and social goals.
Our classroom does not have windows. Children with ADHD and autism are prone to sensory processing difficulties including light sensitivity. We are asking for fluorescent light coverings to help soften the lighting and provide a sense of outside view.
We have many students who require movement in order to boost their cognitive functioning. Having wiggle wobble cushions, wiggle chair feet and a foot roller allows movement in their seat, while providing safe movement without causing distractions to other learners. Many of our students have sensitive hearing or are easily distracted by sound. Having a variety of Soundproof Headphones will allow students to keep them in their rooms and have extras for special occasions like assemblies or emergency drills. Fidget tools are also in great need for my students.
Other basic classroom and learning supplies that allow our special education teacher and students to move through lessons with ease are: dry erase markers and erasers, erasable highlighters, guided reading strips, sharpener blade for our class pencil sharpener, a variety of colored tape to help visually divide and label things and folder clipboards.
