Students in our classroom have to overcome significant deficits in their social-emotional development in order to remain successful throughout the school day. Recently, I have noticed students seem to be more regulated and ready to learn when not sitting in a cold hard chair at their desks. Most students prefer to sit on the floor or be able to stretch out while working on their daily assignments. Bean bag chairs would allow for students to have a choice in where they would be most successful in our classroom. If sitting in a regular school provided chair all day is a barrier for success in my classroom, I want to work hard to make sure I provide more options to my students ASAP.
