Greetings! I am a K-5 Reading Specialist in North Carolina. I teach in a diverse public school, with students with a wide variety of needs. I work primarily with struggling readers, who lack decoding, fluency and/or comprehension skills. Many of my students lack background knowledge, life experiences and vocabulary needed to support their learning and grow as readers. Besides teaching students how to read, I am also charged with helping them develop a love for reading and a curiosity to explore the world through literature. Most importantly, I desire the absolute best for my students and want them to feel successful and supported in my classroom! Thank you for your help with my reading project proposal!
