Privilege of Writing
Funded Dec 11, 2020At this point of your lives you know that the only way you can learn properly is by failing and learning from your mistakes. During remote learning it had become increasingly difficult for my students to display their work, which eliminated any possibility of demonstrating any type of mastery. Without the ability to share work with their teachers it was clear that they wouldn't be able to learn from mistakes, as both of us couldn't accurately assess their learning. These writing tablets have given them a chance to properly show their work and put more of an effort into their production. They are writing more, showing work in math, and practicing their penmanship. They are producing way more work now than when they were forced to just insert text boxes everywhere.
My students are loving these tablets for so many reasons. The obvious, most important reasons are for the amount of work they are able to complete in a much shorter time period, as well as how neat and organized their work actually looks. The tablets, as simple as they are, makes my students feel technologically advanced, and it has given them empowerment, and a sense of importance, that they meant that much and their education meant that much to others.
I have several students who constantly volunteer to show their screen as they are proud of their work now, and want other students to say "How are you writing so neatly?".
There are too many words and examples that I can go on about, but all I can summarize is the fact that something as small as a writing tablet, has closed another bit of regression that has come out of remote learning. These students deserve a fair chance at making progress, and now they have an extra tool that gives them the ability to complete work to the best of their ability in order to achieve mastery in their studies.”

Science Class Needs Leveled Science Books
Funded Oct 6, 2010The immediate impact that your donation had on my kids was the lesson that there are people in their local community who care about the success of children. The students are extremely grateful for the Encyclopedias, and they use them almost every day. The students are using the books to complete their research, book reports, and general assignments on various science topics. It is because of people like you, who use their selfless ways to help others in need. Our school district continues to fall short on certain resources, but it is nice to know that there are ways to go about getting the things we need. Vocabulary is the main reason why students with Special Needs fall behind. With these books they are able to access the knowledge they need on their level.
Once again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and look forward to working with you in the future! Enjoy your holidays.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rosen
