Help Special Education Students from Military Families Self-Regluate
Funded Apr 17, 2023My students are enjoying the generous donations for our break area. The giant bean bag, fold up couch, and padded gym mat really do give my students a safe comfortable place to relax and self-regulate.
My students were so excited to receive the big boxes, and to find out what surprises they were to receive. Once we unboxed everything, they were so eager to test everything out.
We continue to work with each student to help each one be able to better manage their self-regulation. The hope is that each student will be able to prevent becoming overly agitated, and instead be able to self-regulate to come back to baseline quicker. Once self-regulation is managed, my students will be better able to progress on their goals.”

Help Students With Special Needs From Military Families Access Education
Funded Aug 9, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations of bean bags, trampoline, weighted blanket, Magnatiles, etc. My students were so excited when they saw all the new materials and wanted to play and use them right away.
With the new materials, I was able to improve my break area, which is used for more than breaks. It is also an area for students to be able to play, self-regulate/calm themselves, and take a rest/nap. The trampoline is also a break area and sensory break area. The Magnatiles are great for the students to be able to create and play with with each other.
These donated items will help us continue to work on self-regulation, social skills of playing together and negotiation. And I continue to work on helping my students continue to progress in all areas (i.e. academic, social/emotional/behavioral, Speech, Occupational Therapy (OT), etc.).”

With the help of all your generous donations, and the also very generous donors who matched your donations, I will be able to set up my classroom for the first day of school for my well-deserving students! I am excited to see their grateful and excited faces on the first day of school. Again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.”

Funded Jan 6, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations.
The giant timer works well for my students. It is nice and large and has a pleasant sound when it goes off. We use it frequently as a count down to finish activities (e.g. reward break, rotations, etc.).
The wobble stools are highly sought after. The students all want turns sitting on them, and the students do seem to focus better in class when they are able to wobble in their seats.
The paint dabbers have been very helpful for students that need the kinesthetic and visual of making the dots for making TouchMath points for counting and when we play vocabulary BINGO.
When teaching students with special needs, they need to have the repetition and checklists to complete work and succeed. That is why we are so thankful for the laminating sheets. We are able to laminate checklists and work that needs to be repeated over and over again. They are quite expensive for me to buy on my own, and helping offset the cost is so great.
It was very exciting for all of us in the classroom when we received the big boxes of supplies, and when we had the big reveal. We were all so happy to receive all the generous donations and could not wait to use everything!
Again, thank you so much for your generous donations. You have truly enriched my students' learning experiences.”
