My students typically come from low socioeconomic status households in Kansas. Many of them are first generation to the U.S. Many also have a learning disability. All of them struggle in math. They have fallen through the cracks because of funding or time issues and now as middle school students they are struggling in their normal math classes. They have to spend 135 minutes in math every day. They are frustrated.
