Bringing the World to Our Classroom through Technology
Funded Mar 1, 2022We've been able to bring our read alouds to life by accompanying our books with informational videos, sound effects and virtual field trips. Our students have become even more engaged in literacy thanks in large part to this technology!
We've also used the projector to create 3-D banners and bulletin boards to display our students' amazing work for everyone to see. We've been able to introduce our students to famous people throughout history and enhance our curriculum by integrating a dynamic video component.”

Techy Teacher needs Tools!
Funded Jan 27, 2021This year has been so challenging for so many, and our kids are no different. But with your help, we were able to close the distance that much more between where our kids are and where they need to be. Since receiving the technology you all made possible, we have returned to physical school sites, so our plans for the iPad and printer have changed. We've used the printer to print friendly social distancing and mask reminders for our walls, and we've used the iPad to bring virtual learning into the classroom. We've created interactive lessons that the students can follow along and participate in throughout the day, mixing in-person teaching and virtual instruction to cultivate a safe, inclusive learning space for all students.

A Classroom Library that Represents our Students
Funded Feb 6, 2020I hope this message finds you well. During such a crazy time, it's important to remember what we are grateful for, and to thank those that make those things possible. That's why I'm writing to you now - to thank you!
As a special education preschool teacher in South Central Los Angeles, I recognize how many challenges my students encounter and will continue to encounter. That's why it's crucially important for me to create a warm learning environment that acts as a safe haven for my students and that empowers them to reach their full potential. By donating funds towards our culturally responsive library, you helped me do that!
Seeing themselves in the books that they read is vital towards building their self-esteem, and confidence and is also vital to let them know that the possibilities for who they can become are endless. Students flip the pages of the books you helped me purchase and see characters that look like them becoming engineers, princesses, teachers, community leaders, and so many other things. Thank you for helping me show them just how amazing they are and how amazing they're going to be.”
