• Awesome Headphones

  I cannot tell you how much we use our headphones! They are vital to our classroom's everyday routine. Many kids cannot afford to bring their own headphones to class. Now, we have an organized wall organizer with a headphone for each of our students.

  These headphones stay in our classroom and are always available for students to work on their computers. They especially need them while using district required apps that have volume. They practice math and language art skills. In addition, they use it to listen to pre recorded lessons and for projects that require students listening to their own presentations.

• A Color Printer for Our Classroom

  Thank you so much for making this happen! My students are so grateful that they never have to worry about printing an assignment at home, or even missing out printing it in color. They simply connect their computer and press print!

  Because of our new and high-tech printer, students are able to display their hard work around the classroom with ease and confidence. YOU made that happen and we are so grateful.

  One student even said, "I've never used a color printer before," and now, she's the expert on this printer, helping others to print their papers and learned all the settings so quickly. It's the little things like these moments that students get to experience and feel that they have 100% access to the things they need to produce their work.

• A New Computer for a Not-So-New Teacher

  So far, so good. Having this computer has allowed me to get work done while my students get work done! In addition, it has replaced my old, very well used computer that I use at home. It's light weight and allows me to take it home as often as I'd like to grade student work and create lesson plans.

  My students are so excited that I am able to use my main computer while teaching and then to be able to pull students to work with them one-on-one for intervention or anything they may need. I couldn't have done that without a second computer because the technology in my classroom requires a computer in use at all times.

  We are grateful that this new computer has made things easier around here.

• Science Research at its Finest

  We are so excited about having such new and innovative technology in our classroom. Our new MacBook Air is such an asset to our science class! Students challenge themselves by digging deeper into topics we are learning about. For example, we couldn't just stop at learning about the water cycle! When my students found out that there is so little clean, drinkable water on earth, they wanted to know ways in which we can get more water. Some kids researched how to turn salt-water in drinking water. Others researched and found out that glaciers contain clean drinkable water and in the future we may need to "harvest" water. Others were saddened to learn that many countries don't have clean water and that kids their age are suffering.

  Our new laptop has opened up doors for many of my students. Since many don't have access to a computer and don't get a chance to visit the library because they have to catch the bus, it is a perfect opportunity to become engaged and interested in topics related to science and our world! I want to thank you, again, for this opportunity that wouldn't have been possible without your generosity. This is the gift that will keep on giving for many years!”

• Bring Color into Our Classroom

  My students have been so excited! At our school, a cor printer is not readily available for student use. It's very nice to have the convenience of having this great, multi-function, printer right here in our classroom!

  They enjoy printing resources and pictures straight from the pad and computers. It has also enhanced out classroom because we went from blank and white pictures, to colorful and fun pictures. It's great to have such instant results when we want to print something. My students are excited to use the printer whenever they research or print reports. It truly has enhanced the quality of their work.”

• Creating in Color

  Now that our classroom has a color printer, our classroom has come to life. It displays beautiful reports with cover pages and pictures from the internet depicting the topic of research. My students are excited to print from the printer because they can create works of art, poetry, and other creative pieces that cater their gifted minds.

  During Open House, the parents were pleased with all of the technology used in our classroom. It would be impossible to display it without our new printer.

  My students feel comfortable knowing that they don't have limits when it comes to writing a paper because even if they don't have a printer at home, they can use the printer in our classroom.

• Books for Scholars

  Funded Feb 5, 2012

  Our library has come to life! Thanks to your generous donations, my students now have a variety of books ranging from modern to classics. My students are always eager and excited to check out books from our classroom library. They enjoy being lost in a book that they can relate to and enjoy. Some students who don't have books at home were very excited because if it weren't for your donation, these books might have been unreachable.

  Our classroom has a complete library with all genres of literature for all of us to enjoy. Whether it's a read-aloud or independent reading, we are reading for pleasure!

  I really want to make reading a part of these students' lifestyle away from school. Reading is key for good writing, creativity, and can be therapeutic as well.
