​Different colors, their combinations, and their placement can have an effect on attention, memory, feelings, and behaviors of students. A color printer will provide my students the chance to look at the classroom with better interest. It's biggest use in the classroom will be through our PECS. Students with disabilities sometimes needs different ways of communication. A PECs(picture exchange communication system) chart can help determine a student's needs and desires before it gets too frustrating for a student. A colored PECS table can make it easier for students to distinguish between the bathroom symbol and the "I want" symbol more than the actual words. On top of that, PECS can also be distributed throughout the classroom to label items so that there's an opportunity for students to make the connection between the word and the picture In this classroom, we use file folders a great deal. File Folders can help students practice their ABCs, Numbers, Shapes, and emotions. If the colors on the file folders pop out, we will be able to hold the attention of my students far longer than having simple black and white file folders!
