Kicking Off a New Year With a Growth Mindset!
Funded Sep 1, 2021Our Growth Mindset Journals are part of our morning routine. The students look forward to reading the passages and completing the activities. Our class especially enjoys reading about famous people, their obstacles and how they have persevered with a growth mindset. We can already see a difference in how students approach challenges in the classroom. When a student needs extra encouragement; a classmate tells them to have a Growth mindset. They enjoy reading the posters placed around our classroom as well. Thank you again for your generosity.”

Hands-on Learning with Osmo!
Funded May 16, 2019We are so grateful for your donations. Your generosity has helped our classroom acquire Osmos and corresponding games. This piece of technology enhances students learning through interactive games. The different games we received help students practice math, reading and problem solving skills. It is great to see the students excited about learning with the Osmos. The students love to use them individually or with a partner. Our English Language Learners have benefited from using the osmos to learn English.
Thank you again for your donations.”

Funded Oct 23, 2018My students were extremely excited when we received our math games. They know that learning can take place even when you are having fun. The first time we used the math games the students were purposefully grouped and rotated to different tables to play each of the games. They collaborated well in each of the stations to use each of the file folder games.
These materials are so versatile that students can work independently to practice their math skills. They could also work in partnerships and receive support. One of the materials, the pick a problem, is one of the students favorite. When I pick the daily problem they get competitive to see who can solve it first.
We thank you kindly for your generous donations which helped us obtain the materials we need to master 5th grade math. Your donation helped me acquire math games that truly engage the students.”

Handy Helpers! Math Toolkit
Funded Jun 17, 2017During Math we use different resources to enhance the learning of the grade level standards. The math tool kits have become very useful for the students. At times students use the tool kits independently if they need to use a student chart. Students also use the tool kits to complete group activities. Each tool kit contains a set of teacher created charts, which can be written on with a dry erase marker. An eraser, a dryer eraser marker, a game piece, a die, and a 6 inch ruler are also inside each tool kit.
The first time I showed students the holding bin which contained the tool kits they became excited. When I introduced one tool kit to the class, they couldn't wait to use them. Once they learned that each individual student was going to receive a personal tool kit, they were ecstatic. I had a plan for when to use them and everyday the students would ask, "when are we getting our tool kits?" Now they love using them throughout our math sessions.
The wonderful part about this resource is that students will be able to use it throughout the entire school year. With the paper that was donated, I will continue to make charts for students to practice their computational math skills. Also, all the tools inside each kit allows each student to decide when to use them. The tool kits have been a great resource to introduce to my math classroom this year. Thank you for your generous donations.”

An Organized and Interactive Classroom
Funded Mar 11, 2017We were so excited to receive the label maker and tapes. Our goal for these items was to be able to use them to label different areas in our classroom to immerse our English Language Learners in the language. The students are enjoying creating the labels and placing them around the classroom. Then, they use a pointer to read the room. I have shown this process through the pictures.
The label maker is an appealing tool to these students because they enjoy using technology in the classroom. The label maker prints in different font types and sizes. You can add pictures as well. The tapes are in different colors so the students use different colors to group specific words. For example, items that are labeled in white are for different math manipulative, which we use during lessons and center activities. The students chose to label this area because they want to learn the words but also use the words in their math journals.
As a teacher, I enjoy watching my students expressions when they are engaged in learning something new. It is interesting to have an idea about how to help your students and then watch it come to life. That has happened thanks to you. Please know we are very grateful for your donations. These items will continue to have an impact in many more students lives.”

Let's Get Printed!
Funded Apr 25, 2014Since we have received the printer, the class has become more excited about the writing. Especially it being the end of the school year. The excitement has been helpful to motivate and engage students in their daily writing tasks. It has also improved students completion of writing assignments for homework. Technology is a great tool I try to incorporate in my daily lessons. With the addition of this printer it will be great to guide students through the writing process, especially the publishing stage.
During the last few weeks of school, the students worked on writing a science fiction narrative, which they typed and printed. They were also able to create venn-diagrams to compare and contrast characters from our read aloud book. In the venn-diagrams the students included pictures and were so proud to print in color and display their work in our classroom bulletin board. The students are extremely excited with all the capabilities they are able to use with this new printer.
We are extremely grateful for your generosity to our project!”

Funded May 19, 2009I would like to thank you for your generous donation. When the materials arrived I shared the excitement of opening the boxes with the students. Our learning centers were in desperate need of these materials that would supplement the teaching and learning in our classroom. The students favorites were the pointers and the tape measures. Math and science are my students favorite subjects too.
The students in my current class and future students will be able to use these materials to aid in their learning. It also has become a motivational tool which is always necessary.
Again, the current and future students of class 210 thank your for your donation.
