Calming Area
Funded Jan 11, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity to my classroom. My students are using the calming corner all the time. As we focus on mental health awareness, my students on a daily basis gauge where they are on the feelings chart. My students know that on days when they are feeling upset or angry, they can always go to the calming corner to do their breathing exercises.
Just knowing that there is a special place for them to go when they are not feeling their best is a huge asset. Because of this calming corner, they are much more aware of their emotional well-being and the emotions of the people around them. Thank you again donors for creating the safe space for my students.”

Full STEAM Ahead! Robots, Rovers, and Circuits
Funded Oct 12, 2017The projects were a hit! The students were completely engaged in the activity and learning at the same time! My students needed your support to be able to access the kinds of high-tech materials that will engage them in the STEM learning which is the wave of the future. Many of my low-income students do not have internet access at home to support their learning at school. That's where you came in and generously donated the Lego Mindstorm to support coding and engineering skills. You also donated Snap Circuits that reinforce STEM! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Coding and Robotics! Make it FUN!
Funded Oct 21, 2016We are so honored that you selected our classroom to make a donation. The students will be using the Lego Mindstorm to engineer various structures to perform tasks by using coding skills. As the importance of STEAM is being stressed in the public schools, you have provided our class the opportunity to use Lego Mindstorm to engage each student with this invaluable tool. This will get our students to begin using technology to foster critical thinking and problem solving skills. This is a tool that we otherwise could never afford to have in our low-income community classroom. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. We are excited about our bright future!”

Coding and Robotics - Lego Mindstorm
Funded Oct 23, 2015Our class just can't wait to get their hands on the Lego Mindstorm and iPods! Little do they know that while having fun with your donated items, they will actually be learning how to engineer robots and programming them! My students just can't believe that you cared enough about them to give so generously. We can't wait to show you what we can do with the Lego Mindstorm Kit.
My class of 25 students will be sharing the Lego Mindstorm and work in groups of two to three students to engineer the robot and other structures/vehicles. Once the structure has be built, the fun begins with the programming and coding! Students will use our laptops to program the robots to perform certain tasks such as navigating through a maze and playing soccer against another robot. That's just the beginning! The possibilities are endless.
Your donation will open up a whole new world of coding and programming that my students have never been exposed to. This project will foster their love and curiosity of technology in a way that can't be achieved through textbooks. Thanks to your generous donation, this project will boost my students' learning.”

Technology Update!
Funded Oct 14, 2014My students were so amazed by your generosity!
They said, "Wow, how did they know we needed these computers so badly?" "We're so lucky that they picked us!" "I'm going to make a donation to a school too when I grow up!"
We truly are so fortunate to have people like you who care about public education.
My students are all able to have better access to computers because of the additional laptops in the classroom. We don't have to wait for our computer lab time, which is once a week for 40 minutes, to do research or type out our essays. Thanks to your generous donation, we have access to technology anytime in our classroom!”

Frozen Again?
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you so much for your generous donation to fund our project! We are so very excited to get typing on our new laptops and access educcational games on our new iPods! This is really going to enhance our experience at school now that our classroom technology has been updated.
Many of our students do not have the resources at home to purchase laptop computers and printers for word processing so it is essential that the schools give them this opportunity. Thanks to you the enhanced technology in the classroom will enable us to provide them the experience with the most current technology.”

"Frozen Again"?
Funded Oct 3, 2013My students have been so excited about your generous donation of the 4 laptops! Technology is an area of need at our school especially with the growing demands on our students to be technologically proficient.
The laptops are being used every single day to reinforce math, reading, science, social studies and technology skills. This will better prepare my students for the upcoming transition from the traditional paper-and-pencil standardized tests to the online assessments that will be required of all students through the Smarter Balanced Assessment aligned to Common Core State Standards. Your generosity is positively impacting the lives of my students, who otherwise would not have access to new technology. You are making a difference in the lives of many deserving students. Thank you.”

Mrs. Kim
Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Oct 30, 2012Thank you so much donors for your generous donations! Our classroom has changed dramatically since receiving the wireless mic and speakers! Everyone can hear the teacher speak from anywhere in the room and now there is no "bad seat" in the classroom! The wireless microphone also came with a handheld microphone. We will be using that for our Animal Report presentations in class. Students will use the microphone to project their voices to the back of the classroom so everyone can hear all the facts about each animal that was researched. Plus, the microphone will make presenting more fun! Thank you for making a difference in public education!”

One of our favorite features is recording your voice as you read a book and playing it back. We love listening to our own voices. We have a total of 2 Nooks that my students utilize EVERY SINGLE DAY thanks to YOU! Nooks really do make learning fun for us. Thank you for believing in public education. ”
