  • Keeping PE Exciting!

    Funded May 10, 2022

Thank you so much for making this happen for us! We hope this will be the beginning of something truly awesome, potentially even bringing mixed grade/team play. Your kindness to me and your generous support of this project is so encouraging. It brings much light in these difficult times. We are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Perez

  • Wii Can Do SOO Much!

    Funded Jan 23, 2012

Wii did it! Thanks to you! The tools you funded were put to use right away and they enabled these energetic seated-much-of-the-day students to experience movement in a fresh and totally new way, The Wii is definitely a classroom-worthy project. I so appreciate your support and the great faith you had/have in the idea! It was a huge success - not just for my students, but for the many other classes we invited to come and join us. Remember those class parties that were junk food buffets? Gone! Now it's a nonstop "Just Dance" party! It was so inspiring to see the students' unbridled excitement and FOCUS during Wii time. This coming year we have plans to have a few "Wii Days" in the auditorium so that the whole school can benefit. (If you know any software designers, perhaps let them know what a useful tool this can be in the classroom. One obstacle, however, is a lack of group-oriented material.)

With utmost appreciation, Wii thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Perez

My second graders come from diverse backgrounds and have a wide range of learning needs, including students with learning disabilities, English Learners, and students that are Gifted. We are an urban school located in one of the largest school districts in the country. Although there has been a major decrease in funds for our school over the past few years, our school community has worked together to provide our students with a quality education and we are proud to be named a “California Distinguished School”. Yet, decreasing funds also means fewer resources for our students. With all that is going on, physical education is often, sadly, last on the list.
