The deeper objective in class is to challenge students to ask questions, investigate and predict reasonable outcomes and construct meaning by blending their prior knowledge with newly acquired content. Showing respect, empathy and care are important features we model. In addition, STEM projects provide an excellent platform to teach character. To succeed in STEM, students must embrace failure as a necessary step to success. Resilience and hunger to succeed in the face of failure is perhaps the most vital character trait of a life-long learner.
