  • Creativity in the Classroom

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our "Creativity in the Classroom" project. The students really enjoyed using the chalk pastels to create unique mandalas we proudly displayed in our classroom. I know that the parents really appreciated how clean the aprons kept their students while using this very messy medium. We have also used the aprons for painting several times and the students really enjoy putting them on. I am still looking forward to using the beautiful origami paper which for the time being is stored securely in the plastic container. We really appreciate it.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Romero

  • Flexible Seating for Flexible Attitudes

    Funded Aug 25, 2017

The students have really enjoyed the new seating options in our third grade classroom. The yoga balls have helped absorb some of the energy built up in their little bodies while the stools have made working in groups in an outside of the classroom very easy. The bouncy bands have been a blessing for a couple of the students with busy feet. I am hoping to add more options over the years to create a classroom where movement and flexible grouping can enhance the students' learning. The bins have also come in handy for making their desks "portable" for special projects. Thanks so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Romero

  • Moving Pictures

    Funded Aug 14, 2017

I wanted to thank all of the generous donors who supported this project. The art boards have been used several times so far this school year. Every time I get them out, the students are so excited to feel like professional artists. They have used them for oil pastel, chalk pastel, sketching with pencil and they have really saved our table tops when we have used permanent markers to outline our work. The Zoetropes were out of stock so we were able to purchase some extra art books that have been a pleasure. We really appreciate the support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Romero

  • Good Science

    Funded Mar 4, 2017

As the year turns to a close, I am reminded of all of the amazing learning that happened over the course of the year. The students were able to do much of this in part to your generosity. The science dvd's came in handy to prepare us for new learning as well as solidifying the learning throughout the year. We were able to create movies and show these movies to other students. We even showed our movie at an art fair. Being an art magnet, we enjoy integrating art with other subject areas and infusing it into our projects.

    Thanks again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Romero

  • Published Authors

    Funded Dec 6, 2016

I really appreciate you donating in order for my project "Published Authors" to be funded. My students are very excited at the prospect of publishing their own books. We have been studying the writing process all year and students have practiced publishing their own work in the genres of narrative, informational, and opinion. Being in a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet, Art is a very important component of storytelling. The students will be able to create their own story and illustrate the pages to go along with their words.

This project is always one of the students favorites.

Thanks again for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Romero

  • Ready, Set, Action!

    Funded Aug 23, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donation. These materials have been such a great addition to our class. We believe in educating the "whole" child and what better way to do this than to include fun projects into our curriculum that help make the learning fun! Students are far more receptive to learning when the learning is so fun that they forget they are learning. They can use the creativity they develop to help them in other subject areas and in life. The iPad tripods have really helped with this. We have been able to record some performances as well as make creative stop-motion movies.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Romero

  • Interactive Learning

    Funded Nov 17, 2015

The students were so very excited to find out our classroom project had been funded. We were is desperate need of a way to charge our classroom iPads and having the chargers in the classroom has made it so much easier to differentiate the classroom activities. We are in hopes of using the iPads very soon to create our very own digital book reports. We also have plans to use the iPads to create our very own Stop Motion Movie starting the creatures we created with our own two hands and unlimited creativity.

    Thanks for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Romero
