  • Reflective Journaling

    Funded Dec 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your support on this project. I am excited to distribute these new journals to my students. I already can imagine they will be requesting personal colors for their reflective writing. The beginning of class we conduct reflective writing to prepare for the topic of that day's lesson and for a mental reprieve from the demanding tasks of school. This is an activity my students enjoy since it gives them time to share out their thoughts and get to know one another when they are willing to share.”

  • Cleaning Essentials

    Funded Dec 19, 2023

Thanks to your support we have made this project a reality. My students are happy to see that we have a fresh supply of tissues. This cold weather is not ideal for some, trying to stay healthy and attend school can be a challenge. Which is why my students consistently use these supplies. Washing their hands and disinfecting them prevents unwanted sick days from school. Missing one day of class can make a student fall behind so easily, which is why many of them come to school under the weather as well. To alleviate their struggles tissues help for those with a coming cold.

Again thank you so much for your warmth and care to my students.”

  • Brain Food

    Funded Nov 13, 2023

Thank you so much for your help in getting these snacks into my classroom! My students are overjoyed to see them being made available for an emergency during class. It has also been useful when students come to my classroom during lunch for tutoring. This has furthered fostered a space of not only learning but of community. My students truly appreciate getting these resources into our classroom. Already some have decided to host book club meetings during lunch and call it tea time as they enjoy these snacks and the teas provided.”

  • Spring Lights!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Thank you so much for all your efforts in getting us these lights into our classroom. My students were amazed to see the new decor and enjoyed the ambiance it has added to my classroom. These lights help us adjust the lighting in our class which affects the mood of the classroom. Now some of my students come excited to be in class and are ready to learn. As the seasons change we can adjust the colors of the lights to match the weather outside or change the lights to make a gloomy day a bit brighter. Again thank you so much.”

  • And... Scene!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thanks to your support we now are using props in our daily theater exercises and projects. This has enhanced the engagement my students have in theater class. When my students saw the new props arrive, they were elated. Immediately my students began to discuss possible scenes that they could perform in class. Many of these props will be used for our upcoming project called Twisted Fairy Tale. In this project my students will perform well known Fairy Tales in class, but with a twist! All performances will have their own modern variation or new ending to the commonly known Fairy Tales. We are excited to see where these new props will take us.”

  • Snack Containers

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thanks your efforts my students and I have begun to use these bins not only for our classroom snacks but for other supplies as well. This has ensured that not only our classroom remains pest free but is organized as well. In my classroom my theater students now have a place to store their props. This has further enhanced our classroom not only to be a space of learning during regular class time but also a relaxed communal space that is used during lunch for tutoring, quiet reading, and socializing.”

  • Celebrating and Supporting Students

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your support in making this project a success. For some of my students Ramadan can be a challenging time due to the personal sacrifice and demands it requires of them. I am proud of my students and amazed at their discipline as they partake in this spiritual ritual. With the Ramadan lights and banners I was able to decorate my classroom on the final day of Ramadan also known as Eid to show their support. I conducted a lesson for the rest of my class on the spiritual and cultural significance of Ramadan since many had questions about the holiday.

Also, with the new comics I was able to share my students the surprise addition to such books into our classroom library. My students were happy to see literature that they all enjoy! Many have watched Dragonball or Invincible online, to be able to digest it in. a new medium is exciting. Every Friday we have independent reading time in lieu of regular class lesson to promote not only our literacy but our love of reading as well. We are so grateful for your contribution to this project.”

  • Clean Space = Clear Mind

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thank you so much everything you have done to get us these supplies in our classroom. Our cleaning supplies have been organized into a cart in the corner of the classroom. This ensures our cleaning supplies are quick and easy to access. Already my students have shown positive reactions to this because they are provided with resources that help maintain our classroom. Also, these supplies have helped my students not only ensure their personal hygiene but it has taught them how to be accountable in maintaining a clean learning space for each other. Again thank you so much for all your help in this endeavor.”

  • Tools for Writers

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

Thank you so much for all of your help in getting these resources in our classroom. We have already begun using our dry erase markers to do fun classroom activities such as practicing our vocab on personal whiteboards. My students are allowed to not only practice in the traditional means of writing a sentence but we also draw a picture to represent newly learned vocabulary.

Having a fresh supplies of pencils and pens is a dream come true for my students since we keep these supplies in caddy organizers that is placed in the center of their table group for quick and easy access. My students love having the different options to use for their writing in class. Again we cannot thank you so much for all your support.”

  • A Little Flair

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for helping us get these materials into my classroom. My students and I are thrilled to use these supplies to decorate our bulletin boards throughout the year. Our bulletin boards cover a large segment of our classroom, this space I often post up new concepts and terms that provide a resource for students to use. Being able to further decorate them as the year progresses allows me to not only beautify my classroom but capture the attention of my students. This engagement helps them remember to use these resources around them. Again thank you so much for all your help!”

I teach ELA for all of the 10th grade in my school. My students are amazing, creative and insightful individuals. I encourage these traits through creative writing workshops and exposing them to a globally diverse collection of authors. Our classroom has an extensive library that we use as a resource in our learning. Every Friday students have a free reading period to have the chance to practice their independent reading skills and discover the joy of reading from a book that they have freely chosen. From our library my students have a selection of books, comics, news magazine and mangas to read any story they wish or even learn a skill from one of our reference books that teaches students new hobbies.
