  • Bring the Text to Life

    Funded Jan 13, 2025

Thank you so much for helping me get these supplies into my classroom. I cannot wait to share the news with my students and see their faces when these supplies arrive to our classroom. These resources will make our final project for our Unit more engaging and increase their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Romero

  • Mindful Projects

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you so much for getting these supplies into my classroom. My students and I are using these supplies for various class projects. One such project we are using the paint supplies to decorate wolf masks. We completed our reading of St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves. To display their understanding of the story, my students will work in groups to act out various chapters of the story. This activity will help them make the text come alive and be engaging to them. They are excited to begin this project. Thank you so much for helping me in this endeavor.”

  • Strong Voices

    Funded Jun 21, 2024

Thank you for all your help in getting these new technologies and resources into my classroom. In my theater elective class some of my students are still searching for their confidence and voices. The resources such as megaphones, bullhorn, and voice amplifiers help strengthen the voices of my soft spoken students.

This increases their confidence and in my other classes such as ELA. I have used karaoke microphones to increase engagement in class discussions. Some students enjoy having the power of the microphones as they speak their minds to their classmates. I am so grateful for these tools you all have provided.”

  • Markers Galore

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Thank you so much for your help in getting these supplies into our classroom. My students were amazed at all the colors available for classroom use. Already my students and I have been using the markers for group work activities. The other day, in one class we used chart paper to work in groups to practice identifying themes for the story we read as a class. Another class we used these markers to fill out a poster organizer to write out the summary and key evidence of characterization we found in a text.

We plan to continue to use these markers for future group work activities such as vocab practice and visual projects. We are so grateful for your support.”

  • Buzz In!

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Thank you so much for your help in getting this buzzer into our classroom. Already my students and I have been using it to review class terms in an academic quiz bowl. The competitive nature has increased the engagement of my students. They love the buzzer and it has removed conflict of determining who was first to raise their hand. The machine allows for a fair selection of who is going to answer review question. We plan on continuing to use this to review past content before exams, and tests. We are ecstatic to have this buzzer.”

  • Sticky Lessons

    Funded May 27, 2024

Thank you for all your help in getting this Sticky Note easel charts into my classroom. Already using this as a medium to engage my students has proven a success. Students occasionally will participate in group activities that requires organizing their thoughts onto the chart papers. Some activities include vocabulary comprehension, text analysis, or class presentations. Every time they are excited to conduct learning in a new way unlike the traditional methods of lectures and writing notes. Also, their work is displayed throughout my classroom and they can refer to it for support in their reading of class texts. Thank you again for making this possible.”

  • Dark Tales

    Funded Jan 19, 2024

Thank you so much for making this project possible. Immediately, my students were overjoyed in having these mangas and comics in our library. Every Friday is a free reading period. Students are free to grab any book that they find of interest, my manga and comic section continues to grow. With these new ones my students are happy to have new choices. Two students in particular quickly read through them and checked some of them out to read at home. By the end of the week they will have read through all of them. Again thank you for making this possible.”

  • Live Theater

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

Thank you so much for all your help in getting this project funded. My students were excited to see all the new props that they will be using in class for their acting projects. We have just begun our new unit in which the final project will be to act out a scene using a song or soundtrack to follow along as the background. Once my students begin this project, they will be using all the props that we have just received to enhance their performances. My students can enjoy the magic of the Theater thanks to you.”

  • Spring Lights 2

    Funded Jan 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your contribution to this project. My students and I were excited to see our lights and oil diffuser arrive into the classroom. Some of my students have eagerly volunteered to hang our new lights to enhance our classroom aesthetic. Already we have begun to enjoy the ambiance that these lights provide as well as the scents from the oil diffuser. When we enter the classroom, these objects have created an ideal learning space where we feel relaxed and ready to begin our academic studies.”

I teach ELA for all of the 10th grade in my school. My students are amazing, creative and insightful individuals. I encourage these traits through creative writing workshops and exposing them to a globally diverse collection of authors. Our classroom has an extensive library that we use as a resource in our learning. Every Friday students have a free reading period to have the chance to practice their independent reading skills and discover the joy of reading from a book that they have freely chosen. From our library my students have a selection of books, comics, news magazine and mangas to read any story they wish or even learn a skill from one of our reference books that teaches students new hobbies.
