I Behave To EARN...
Funded Mar 1, 2024I would like to thank you for all the support you have provided. The students in my school will be delighted to know that they have age appropriate items that they can “purchase” with Panther Cash they have earned from behaving appropriately in different areas of the school. I can’t wait to share their excitement.”

We Understand Better
Funded Sep 29, 2022The students in the third have had a wonderful opportunity engaging with the flashcards that have been donated to the class. They have used them to learn basic English and they have been used to elaborate their thinking with seeking for words that they can't express in the English knowledge.
They have learned to independently use these materials and when they felt they had mastered them, they were able to share them with others that needed a scaffold to complete their work.
My students have been fortunate to use these tools to enhance their reading, writing, and speaking skills.”

Funded Sep 22, 2022My students as well as the school staff have benefitted greatly from this project. They have been able to plan lessons with these given gifts for science, math and social studies.
In science lower grade students have been exploring solids and liquids with the change of temperatures. They have also observed the importance of temperature on particular. objects. Students have become more conscious of cause and effect examples with hands on activities related to temperature.
Thank you so much for this gift.”

Funded Aug 31, 2022Students in the third and second grade had an opportunity to learn about the plants and their importance to the environment.
Thanks to your generosity, students had an opportunity to engage in group activities that led them to learn about the process of how plants grow. We taught the lessons and the donated materials brought everything to life, when they had to touch the soil, seeds, water and containers to plant their preferred seeds.
Students were more engaged, happy and enthusiastic to return and take care of their plants in a timely manner. They were eager and excited to see that their plants were growing.
Our next steps are to use the materials that are left for our second set of planting sessions in the spring where students will have an opportunity to plant their seeds in the school garden.”

Funded Aug 22, 2022Students in the class have benefitted from this project in many ways.
Students have had the opportunity to engage on hands on STEM based activities that have led them to learn more words in the second language. They have learned words like land forms, countries, mountains, and geography for social studies.
These activities and donated materials have lend themselves to teach students that working together can lead to great things. My students look forward for a unit based STEM activity that allows them to connect what they have been learning to physical items that they have created together.
Our next steps is to develop a project with an entire grade so that more students can benefit from hands on STEM based activities that can lead to more interpersonal, language and team work skills.”

Funded Aug 21, 2022Our 'Welcoming Event' was a complete success due to your generosity. The school was able to give students prizes for many of the games and events they attended on that day. They were joyful to receive a reward and shared them with others around them.
The donations for the project have helped the school stabilized a reward system in where they are able to understand that good behavior can lead them to success. Our students look forward to a weekly opening of our school store in where they can use their well earned "Panther Bucks" and exchange them for any of the goodies that were donated. Their faces light up with excitement when the opening of the store is mentioned.
Our next steps for the students is to use the donations for future school wide events in where they can use their well earned panther bucks and exchange them for any goodies of their choice.”

Kindergarten, Here I Come!
Funded Aug 24, 2014Well, it has been an interesting path to work and teach first time and returning students. It is more than just teaching academics, but acceptable social and everyday self control skills.
The materials that have been donated to the class have been very helpful. The letter, word and vocabulary games in Bingo are very fun and interactive. Students have become more confident in saying and reading everyday words with the picture cards and photographs that have been printed from the donated printer. Students look forward to center time in where they can practice phonetic skills and word recognition drills with the interactive games. I must mention that pencil grip and fine motor skill are an important developmental milestone at this age. The pencils and and on-hand materials support the needs of my students.
I couldn't have done it without your support and believe.”

Funded Aug 27, 2013The new school year has brought many demands and challenges, from new curriculum, Common Core, Danielson's Frame Work and a new set of learners. I am faced with the challenge of transitioning non-English speaker to the English language. I feel it's my duty to make the transitioning as smooth as possible.
Visuals, manipulative and hands on activities are the English Language Learners' new path to a smooth transition. Visuals allows them to capture meaning instantly and hands on activities allows them to internalize actual techniques and strategies.
A new way of communication began to occur as my non-English speakers used pictures to write simple sentences. They are developing a sense of time and responsibility as well as consciousness of their every day as they complete morning routines using the math calendar and daily schedule chart.
Math counters and reading activities have captivated their eyes and excitement to learn new material. My students are very happy to have hands on activities, visuals as well as manipulative that allows them to interactively learn.
My students could not have had a smoother pathway to the English Language without you. I am grateful as well as humbled for your time, thoughts and donations as they have contributed to my students' success.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Garcia
