My students are constantly complaining about how quickly the day goes by, and how they do not want to go home! They even complained that a week off for Thanksgiving was too much! They love to learn and enjoy being challenged. Imagine that! The majority of the students in my classroom are dual middle income families. The children are seven and eight years old and still have an air of innocence. They still love their teacher, but are becoming old enough to self advocate and take ownership of their education. Our classroom has an environment that fosters learning. The room is set up to allow free movement and to accommodate all learning styles. We have alternative seating and tables that provide areas for students to stand, sit, lay, and bounce. All instruction is student driven and delivered in small group.
