COOL and MISTY
Funded Nov 15, 2023Thank You Again! For contributing to our classroom project "Cool and Misty." Your thoughtfulness has changed our environment in our classroom. During the morning the room is comfortable but after lunch the heat is unbearable to some of the students.
Your gift of an area air cooler osculating fan has changed the temperature in the room and has eliminated some of the issues we were having after lunch with students feeling uncomfortable due to the heat. Now when the window is open and the cooling fan is in front it helps make the room cooler and the entire class is comfortable all at once.
The students are very excited about having the cooling fan and reminds me before lunch to turn it on so it can be comfortable when they come back after lunch. They also, help with getting the water to fill up the cooling fan to get it ready.
Thank You Again! For supporting our classroom project, you are as cool as the fan for supporting our classroom.”

Funded Jul 10, 2023Thank You! for helping the students to form small groups. The desks that you help funded the students were very excited to use them in the classroom. We have tables that sit two students per table so this didn't allow for them to move around in small group because of the weight and size of the tables.
The desk now allows the students to sit in small groups by using the desk to read in groups. The students are also, playing games in small group and having conversations now with each other in small group. The most important part of the desk is that students can now sit and work with their peers in a more isolated area.
Thank You! Once again for giving the students the opportunity to work together in small group without the desk none of this would be possible. Your gift made it possible for the students and seeing them work together is a dream come true.”

Ms. Bush

Funded Jun 17, 2022Thank You! for supporting our classroom. The students were so excited to start using the base ten manipulative to learn subtraction with borrowing. I started off by demonstrating how to use the magnetic base ten blocks. The students had a chance to come to the board and use them just applying them and removing them.
Next, I demonstrated how the magnetic blocks can be used to represent numbers and allowed them to use them to represent random numbers I selected to put on the board. After, they learned to use the base ten magnetic blocks. I switch to using the base 10 blocks to represent numbers during subtraction.
Finally, after several attempts to teach this skill without the blocks. The students now can see the borrowing process in concert. They understand now when borrowing from the tens place it's a 10 moving over and not just a number one. The blocks have solved our problem of borrowing during subtract. Thank You Again For Your Support!”

Funded Nov 18, 2021Thank You! for supporting our classroom the doodle boards are a big hit in the classroom. All of the students enjoy using the doodle boards during instructional time as support to the lessons. The doodle boards were purchased to help students practice math during instructional and independent learning time.
The students who are not fond of math is now so excited about the doodle boards that they are now joining in on the math lessons and sharing a visual of their answers. The switch from the paper to the boards has made an impact on the student's motivation to learn and their increase progress during math.
Also, the doodle boards are currently being used during our practice spelling lessons. Which the students enjoy using them because they can write hold it up for teacher observation and then erase them. The doodle boards have changed our environment we currently have a more motivated group of learners who were reluctant to learn but now they're more engaged and eager to learn using the doddle boards.”

Funded Jun 11, 2021Thank You! for your contribution to our class. Your donation allowed the students to have writing boards during our daily reading instruction. The students really enjoy writing their thoughts down about the passages we read on their writing boards. We also, use them for practicing spelling and math.
The boards also, allows use to save paper because we have the boards to practice on and we can push a bottom and wipe it clean and move on to our next practice assignments without passing out paper or students needing another piece of paper because they made a mistake they can just erase their boards.
Thank You! for allowing us to experience something new this school year that's modern and boost learning in our classroom.”

Funded May 10, 2021Thank You! for your contribution to our classroom. Since being virtual my special needs students couldn't practice skills, they normally would have practice if we were in the classroom. However, the materials you helped contribute allows them to independently practice at their seats on skills that they need to refresh since virtual learning.
The students love the materials that were donated to the classroom especially the classroom sentence builder kit. They really enjoy getting the kits and making sentences and writing them down on paper to see how many sentences they can form. The boys like the math flash cards because they like to challenge each other by keeping score of the number of problems they get correct.
I have also, seen an increase in their ability to form sentences during our small group writing instruction daily. The boys have challenged their selves to increase their math skills from subtraction to multiplication to keep the challenged going. Thank You Again! for helping us to a great start to our new school year.”

Funded Jan 21, 2021Thank You Again! for your kindness towards my students. My students look so good at home sitting at their desk doing their work. They feel more confident in their selves and more motivated to learn at home because the environment is more like sitting in the classroom.
The students picked up the desk from the school they were so excited they wanted to know who brought the desk for them. I told them "good people with big hearts." The parents were a little more excited than the students they couldn't wait to get home and take pictures. It felt so good to join the class that Monday and see all the students at a desk they could work at and a space they can call their own.
The students can now find the materials they need because they have the open space to the desk to keep their books. They have been working on decorating their backgrounds with art work from their art class and most importantly their daily schedule is hanging up for them to see and follow. This has been a different year of teaching and learning but with kind people like yourself who care we can get through it.”

Speaking and Listening at a Distance
Funded May 18, 2020I would like to Thank You Again! for saving our virtual learning program this Spring. The wireless headphones you helped purchase allowed my students to be able to hear me clearly during instructional time. The wireless headphones also, helped the students to block out sounds in their home environments so they could focus on learning.
The parents and students were really excited about getting the headphones to attach to the students cell phones. The head phones were black light weight ear buds with blue tooth capabilities so the students didn't have the interference of the cord.
The students are now bringing the headphones to school to use with their devices inside the classroom. The headphones really made a differences I could really tell they were more focused on the lessons and their assessment scores increased. Thank You!”

Funded May 8, 2019Thank You! for purchasing our cart for our school healthy snack cart. The students were so excited to have a cart that they can roll down the hallway.
The healthy snack cart is available twice a day during both lunch hours. My students sale the healthy snacks based on a classroom work schedule so they all get the opportunity to sale. They also, select the items that's going to be sold on the cart and make a list for purchasing.
The money that is collect from the sale items is reused to purchase more healthy snacks to put on the cart. The students are very excited about the program and they are really working hard at increasing their money skills. I have also, seen an increase in their diagnostic results in the area of functional math which includes money. Thank You Again!”

Funded Oct 25, 2018Thank You! for the school supplies you donated to our classroom. The supplies are in use daily we started using the composition books as journals. The students are given a topic to write a small response to in their composition book and then they share it in front of the class. This is helping with their writing and verbal communicating skills. The students are excited about the individual markers. We can finally use our white boards to write responses to answers and the erasers are helping so when they make a mistake they don't have to use paper towel "One student even said they feel like a teacher." Also, each student have their own individual folder to help them to keep track of their work so they can share with parents at parent teacher conference. Lastly, the pencils are always a plus in a classroom and it works better when students have their own pencils in their pencil case. These supplies have helped them to be more responsible while learning. The excitement that was expressed on their faces to have their own supplies was a dream come true a dream you made come to reality. Myself and my students express our gratitude too you.”
