  • Acids and Bases Made Easier!

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

Thank you so much for donating towards the acid base labs. This order pays for multiple meaningful lab activites that will help your kids truly understand the concepts involved.

This year's third period class enjoys every opportunity to get out of their seats and mix some chemicals...thanks to all of you, they will mix some acids and bases together!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • Bring the Heat!

    Funded Jan 17, 2022

Thank you so much for your extremely generous contributions to my science program. My students truly benefit from safe and reliable heating plates.

We used these amazing heat plates during our thermochemistry lab and the students were thankful that they did not have to crowd over each other to conduct the lab. I am sure that there are many instances in which science classes do not have the sufficient amount of necessary equipment for the students to safely and effectively perform labs. Thanks to thoughtful parents of the community (YOU), my students had the opportunity to conduct relevant explorations and enjoy their lab experiences!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • Digital pH Sensors Create Curiosity!

    Funded Mar 12, 2022

Thank you all so much for your enthusiastic approach to funding this project which took less than 24 hours! This year's honors chemistry students show so much interest and excitement while in my class (even during my boring lectures) so I am so happy to know that we will have enough pH sensors for them to continue working in small groups.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • STEM Meets Chemistry

    Funded Nov 30, 2019

Thank you everyone for making my classroom a better environment for your child’s learning. I strive to teach chemistry well by teaching the concepts and allowing students to explore in labs. I am so thankful for all the support I receive from caring parents. I am looking forward to using this STEM equipment in upcoming labs.

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • We Want to Earn Medals

    Funded Nov 15, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous and thoughtful donation towards our science olympiad program. We desperately needed better resources that would give our dedicated students a chance to feel confident and prepared. The learning material is full of information vital to their success. I know they will be very appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • Oh, We Could Do This Lab Only if We Had...

    Funded Apr 2, 2019

Thank you all for donating last semester to my chemistry honors program. Due to the generous support from all of you, the students were able to conduct amazing experiments in electrochemistry and intermolecular forces. With your donations I was able to purchase equipment that allowed students from the second semester created a spontaneous Galvanic cell that produced an electrical current from a chemical reaction. Then the summer school students performed an interesting and relevant activity that helps them better understand the properties of cohesion, adhesion, and hydrogen bonding. For those going into AP chemistry, these students will feel more confident and for those that are not...then I know they at least had fun!

    Thanks so much!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • The Reaction Rate and Electrochemistry Project

    Funded Feb 4, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing towards the kinetics and electrochemistry project. All of my honors chemistry students truly enjoy the opportunity of investigating and collaborating in lab projects. Our kinetics project allowed the students to determine that a change in concentration affected reaction rate. They conducted a differential rate law lab in which they changed the concentration of three different reactants and proved that the result of first and zero order reactions after they properly graphed the results.

I am very grateful to teach in a supportive community.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • Small Masses, No Problem

    Funded Jan 16, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing towards the purchase of the mass scales. These are special because the students often perform activities that require an extremely small mass, such as one-hundredth of a gram. The scales we have now do not measure such small quantities so the results are not very accurate. One of the equipment items recommended by the College Board in preparation for advanced placement chemistry lab are mass scales such as these. It is wonderful to have the support needed to make my classes a better experience for the students.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • The Ultimate Chemistry AP Lab Project

    Funded Nov 11, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting the Ultimate Chemistry AP Lab project. This is a very special because it includes over two dozen College Board approved advanced chemistry labs which help the students prepare for the upcoming exam. The students have had the opportunity to investigate and explore in thermochemistry, kinetics, acids/bases, and equilibrium which are commonly found in the AP chemistry exam. Also, I will be able to use the equipment for the following school year! Thank you so much! My students are very appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

  • No More Germs on My Goggles Please

    Funded Nov 7, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting my proposal "No More Germs on My Goggles Please". All of my students wear protective eye googlies during labs which means that there is a lot of sharing occurring throughout the day. With the help from generous parents, now they wear the goggles with peace of mind knowing that they are clean. I set the timer to 15 minutes and the eye goggles that are neatly placed into a closed cabinet uses ultraviolet radiation to disinfect the eye wear. Now the students are more willing to wear the goggles without me having to constantly nag.

Thank you so much for the support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Snodgrass

I am thankful to teach your children at one of the best high schools in the nation. My approach for this year is to make all of my science students experience exciting and meaningful by incorporating STEM labs that require critical thinking and collaboration. U.S. News and World Report has recognized Peninsula High a top 100 school in the nation for STEM (Science, Math Engineering and Math) schools. I want my students to have the resources needed to for STEM based inquiry and discovery labs. This years chemistry honors and biology students are very intelligent and show an genuine interest in science. They are excited when they get a chance to get out of their seats and participate in labs. Many of them may be interested in continuing their chemistry and biology knowledge by enrolling in advanced science courses next year and I would like for them to have the confidence and lab experience to do so.
