  • Out With Baby Bear - in With Age Appropriate Resources

    Funded Sep 28, 2024

Thanks to your generous support, my students now have a vibrant and engaging resource to explore the fascinating world of Greek mythology! The Greek god posters purchased through my Teachers Pay Teachers gift card have transformed our classroom into an inspiring learning environment where students can visually connect with key figures from ancient Greek culture. These posters not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of our room but also serve as invaluable teaching tools. Students are using them to deepen their understanding of each god's attributes, symbols, and stories, fostering curiosity and sparking meaningful discussions about mythology's influence on literature, art, and culture.

This project has had an incredible impact on student learning by making complex material more accessible and exciting. Visual aids like these posters help my students, especially those who are visual learners or struggle with reading, better retain information and engage with the subject matter. Watching them eagerly reference the posters during class activities and proudly share newly learned facts with their peers has been heartwarming. Thank you for helping me mythology to life in our classroom—you've made a lasting difference!”

  • Learning English Through Artistic Expression

    Funded Jan 19, 2024

I hope this letter gives you joy in knowing what an incredible impact your generosity has had on the students in my class. Your support has truly made a difference in brightening the students' days. We are literally now living in color instead of black and white. We are deeply grateful for your kindness.

The students have enthusiastically embraced the beautiful set of colored pencils and coloring books. It is heartwarming to see how much creativity these have brought into the classroom. Not only are they enhancing the students' language skills, but they are also providing a means for them to explore their artistic abilities and unleash their creativity.

The simple act of coloring has become a source of relaxation and stress relief for many of the students, allowing them to find moments of peace and tranquility amidst the challenges they may face.

Thank you once again for your invaluable support.”

  • Out With Baby Bear - In With Age Appropriate Resources

    Funded Aug 23, 2023

I am overwhelmed with gratitude and filled with joy as I write this letter to express my deepest appreciation for your generous contribution towards our project. Your selfless act of kindness has not only made a profound impact on our classroom, but it has also touched the lives of students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, bringing us one step closer to achieving our educational goals.

With your invaluable support, we have been able to address a significant challenge that has been hindering our learning process. The issue of scarce teaching resources for older students, particularly those tailored to meet the needs of our English Language Learners, has posed a considerable obstacle in our educational journey. Often, the materials available are either too simplistic, designed for younger learners, or fail to resonate with the experiences and interests of our diverse group of teenagers.

Your thoughtful donation of the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has provided us with a precious opportunity to bridge this gap and create a more engaging and inclusive learning environment for our students. The ability to acquire age-appropriate teaching materials specifically tailored to the needs of our older English Language Learners has not only enhanced the quality of our education but has also instilled a newfound sense of confidence and enthusiasm within each and every one of our students.

Your kindness has not gone unnoticed, and your generosity will continue to resonate within our classroom for years to come. Through your unwavering support, you have reaffirmed the importance of education and the transformative power it holds in shaping the lives of our youth, regardless of their cultural or socio-economic backgrounds.

On behalf of my students and myself, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable contribution.

With sincerest thanks and warm regards,”

  • Financial Literacy Prepares Us for Real Life

    Funded Aug 24, 2022

Thanks so much for contributing to our classroom. We have explored many aspects of "adulting." The pictures reflect my students' favorite activity. Boy, was it ever eye opening!

Using these units, students not only learned about managing their finances, but also became accustomed to using financial and real estate websites. Students researched housing prices in their target area, average wages for various occupations, tax tables, average food expenses for their pretend family, car notes, insurance, and much more.

Again, thanks for helping the students experience living in the real world.”

  • Engaging Resources for English Language Learners

    Funded Nov 23, 2021

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind donation. The students are busy reading their new books and playing vocabulary games with the resources we bought with our Teachers Pay Teachers gift card.

The students are excited to be reading interesting books. The graphic novel, Anya's Ghost, is fast becoming a favorite in our classroom. The pictures really make the words comprehensible for the English Language Learners. The students also relate to the message of acceptance which resonates throughout the novel. In addition, the English Language Learners are enjoying our new bilingual books. The process of reading the text in Spanish and English is accelerating their English Language Acquisition.

We are also enjoying our new vocabulary games. Our two favorites are Verb Vocabulary BINGO and Plural Nouns Memory Game. In fact, we are enjoying our games so much that we have officially nominated Fridays as classroom game day!

None of this would have been possible without your help. Know that you are truly making a difference in children's lives. Many of these newly arrived immigrants are living in very challenging circumstances. Receiving educational resources is important, but knowing that people care is priceless.”

  • With Two Monitors We Can Play Vocabulary Games!

    Funded Mar 29, 2021

I can't thank you enough for this monitor. This has been a game changer during our remote lessons. Before receiving this second monitor, it was difficult to teach a lesson via ZOOM, while also keeping track of student interactions. With a second monitor, I can now display my screen to the class on the first monitor and use the second monitor to see students who are raising their hands or have a question in the chat. The second monitor has also be a life saver when we use secondary interactive apps such as Pear Deck and Kahoot. While displaying the main screen on my first monitor, I can log in to the second monitor as a student in order to see what my students are experiencing. This allows me to clear up any confusion students may be experiencing. Thank you for your generous support.”

  • Out With Baby Bear - In With Age Appropriate Readings

    Funded Jan 24, 2021

I can't tell you how much we appreciate you supporting our class. As you know, I teach English language learners in grades 6-12. It is so difficult to find interesting reading material for older English language learners. I have used the Scholastic Action magazines in my classroom for the past three years, and this has been a game changer. My students love reading real life teen stories. I love the in-context vocabulary and grammar lessons the magazine provides. My students also love performing the reader's theater scripts in the magazines. This gives them crucial practice in speaking English in a safe environment. Many of the reader's theater scripts are centered around historical events. By reading about these events, my students feel more successful in their content classes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
