I teach American Sign Language to the best students on the planet at two different high schools in the California community of Carlsbad. The students come from various ethnic and financial backgrounds, many being low to mid income and migrant families. The schools have a lot of community pride and are renowned for hard working and dedicated students. The students are excited to learn and develop their skills in order to better their lives. Because or program is a small elective, it does not receive the same funding as the larger core classes on campus. I want these students to have all the resources necessary to be creative and succeed. These students deserve equal access to everything possible to learn.
