  • Essential Supplies

    Funded Oct 19, 2022

Like most teachers and support staff across the United States, I routinely buys supplies for my students needs in order to have a successful year. Instructional Materials or Teaching and Learning Materials are resources that myself and my students use in teaching and learning situations to help achieve desired learning objectives and to facilitate the teaching and learning process. These Instructional materials serve as a channel between us in delivering instructions. They also serve as the motivation on the teaching-learning process. It is used to get the attention of my scholars and eliminate boredom.”

  • Latino Amercian and Proud!

    Funded Dec 27, 2023

These Spanish Materials are one of my favorite things to do in class, and I try to incorporate them at least once a day. They're a great tool to use, keep students moving, and provide a lot of opportunities to practice and learn.. However, if you're not careful, stations can easily become a logistical nightmare. My classroom learns rules and procedures. They learn to become comfortable in social and emotional skills. The materials provided help them with their oral and written skills. The materials help build my students confidence that will allow them to succeed in math and reading skills.”

  • Books Galore!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

My classroom excelled in reading books in English in our bilingual classroom. The books brought more motivation and encouraged them to read in English. I have never had a classroom excel in their reading comprehension as I did with this class. They were so excited to see the new titles and excel with their reading scores. They were able to elaborate on their books by also taking comprehension exams, directed drawings of the characters and setting. Reading in my classroom is a time where students can have the freedom to choose genres of their choice and elaborate reading skills that will help them improve their reading comprehension.

Thank you for your generous donation it was truly appreciated.”

  • Exploring Fairy Tales!

    Funded Apr 15, 2020

Our fairy Tale Stem Kits are awesome! My students really enjoy these activities. Once we read the book they can create the story again using figures and molding the setting from the story. It is a favorite and they are able to enjoy The 3 billy goats gruff, Goldilocks and the 3 little bears and The 3 little pigs. They can retell and reenact the scences from the story. It helps them use their motor, auditory, tactile, and verbal skills. The story really comes to life with their creations and have enjoyed them. Thank you so much!”

  • STEM and Emotions!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you for the donations the students are enjoying the centers and they have come in handy having enough for the classroom because we are having to have a center per student and they cannot share at the moment. When the items arrived they were so excited to explore. The STEM centers were aligned with our objectives in reading (Fairy Tales). The students have been acting out the fairy tales and even recording themselves in action. One center is Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf they were able to construct each pigs home and reenact each scene. The center was a hit. My students were able to retell the story and act it out. I would like more of these centers since my classroom has 25 students and I would like each of them to have a literacy STEM station.”

  • Explorers Being Creative!

    Funded Oct 16, 2019

Thank you for supporting my classroom, it is a working progress! Our storage organization bins are perfect for all of our STEM projects activities and stations. These bins are very light and easy for all of my students to carry as well as open. The microphone was a big hit! My students love to do read-aloud's to the class as well as myself. They even request for me to sing songs to them with it. My shy students love to hear their voice and take ownership when reading to a partner. In addition, my class enjoys the 2 STEM centers. They have a super building set that is 150 pieces and are very eager when it's their turn to have that station. Their creations are pretty cool! The second STEM center is a builder set that has a small screw driver and hammer which is very cool so that they can build small mobile cars and other creative designs. They really enjoy them and always look forward working on these hands on projects. I can hear conversations about their creations and it truly makes me happy to see them enjoying themselves and at the same time learning.”

  • STEM Challenges

    Funded Apr 3, 2019

My students are having a wonderful experience using the new materials that were funded. I had told them prior what exactly I wanted to be funded and they were excited for their arrival. When the items arrived I had never seen so many big smiles at once and just everyone shouting for joy! It felt so awesome to see the joy that was about to come to learning experiences. A large majority of my class did not have any of these materials at home. One of the items that was funded was legos and building blocks, I was so happy that now my students could create some amazing structures with them! I am very grateful for the new experiences that these resources have brought to my class and I am sure that they will leave this school year with even more knowledge and fun experiences!”

  • Mrs. Montoya's Back to School Wish List!

    Funded Nov 9, 2018

The excitement began immediately when the boxes arrived. One of the first items that arrived were the bean bag chairs. I made them my VIP chairs. Every week I chose 2 VIP students that get to sit and enjoy themselves in a different type of seating. They truly enjoy sitting on them! The other materials that arrived were math Learning Centers. Mrs. Sandell our math intervention teacher comes once a week and she has also seen how these centers help her as well to reinforce a math objective. Students are enjoying the math centers to reinforce skill from passed objectives that have been taught. The centers are very colorful and each have manipulative's that are fun to learn with. We also received math folder games that provide our students with extra practice while playing a fun game. These resources have come in handy not only in class but during our after school tutorials. Students can interact and take their leadership skills to another level while enjoying playing a math game. In addition, we received ESL cards that my class really enjoys especially for my new comer students that have been arriving this school year. These cards help them understand words and phrases in Spanish and English. They are improving their oral and reading skills during ESL. I am truly grateful for all our our materials that were graciously donated my class and I are enjoying them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montoya

I have 24 students this school year. Their primary language is Spanish but we also have objectives that are taught in English. A large majority of my students live in apartments. They do not have a lot of outdoor experiences due to coming from low economic families and lack of having transportation to go out. They are very eager when it comes to doing activities in thier classroom stations and love to explore and learn as much as they can. I want to have my classroom environment for my students to be very relaxing and comfortable for them just like a second home for them.
