  • Phonological Awareness Starts in Early Preschool

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you for support my professional development and helping me obtain resources that will help supplement my teaching. I am excited to use this resource to support my emerging bilinguals and young readers. Phonological awareness is such an important part of speech and emerging readers. I can’t wait to use phonemic awareness book with my students.”

  • Small words, Big Impact

    Funded Jan 11, 2022

I am so grateful for the continuance support from wonderful donors like yourself. Books are truly the gateway to acquire and help expand children's knowledge through fun and engaging stories that capture their attention.

During the month of may and June, I was use a varieties of books that were funded through this project to support our plant and insect studies. One of the most loved book during our insect study was The Very Impatient Caterpillar by Ross Burach. We were able to cover the life cycle of caterpillars, the importance of waiting, and how hard it was to wait and how it made us feel.

Students have been excited to spend time in our library area now that we have wide selection of books that connect with our creative curriculum studies and their interest. It has been wonderful to observe all my students from the youngest to oldest reader being excited to read books at their own pace.

Words cannot expressed how thankful my students and I are for caring donors who help educators to create opportunities to support students learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • Let Imagination Run Wild!

    Funded Oct 1, 2021

As I take this moment to express my continued gratitude towards your generosity and commitment to supporting projects catered towards providing opportunities for all learners. I like to thank you for helping me give my students the materials needed to learn through play.

Since I last created " Let imagination run wild", I have set-up and created a dramatic play area that is inviting and serves as an extension of our curriculum that provides hands on opportunities. The Dramatic play center has allowed to students to:

    - Develop social skills

    -Develop language and communicate skills

-Explore real world experiences ( cooking , dress up, turn taking)

-learn about Empathy and sympathy through imaginary play.

The Dramatic play center has become my students favorite exploration center. The addition of baby doll accessories, pretend foods and Fresh Market center have allowed my students to engage in meaningful peer interaction that support learning though play.

When my students first saw the all the amazing materials in our dramatic play center all they could say was " wow, it's for us ! " They felt very special to know donors like you have given them so many amazing opportunities to learning through play.

We hope that we can count on your continued support. Together we can provide students with opportunities to learn the best way they know how, through PLAY.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

Young children learn and understand new concepts through the art of play. For many of my young students (3 yr. -4 yrs.) this is their first school experience. The materials I am requesting for my project will target social- emotional, cognitive, language domains and will act as an extension for Creative Curriculum units that we will cover throughout the year. The units include signs, clothes, community workers, Simple Machines Study, healthy eating habits and families. The Dramatic play materials will expose students and familiarize them with different occupations and tools used. During Preschool, children usually attend their first dental appointment, learn about healthy eating habits, and become interested in different community occupations that they are unfamiliar with and leads to stress. In addition, the PALS students who mainstream in my classroom will benefit from this materials as-well.
