  • Learning Through Fun Math Games

    Funded Dec 23, 2007

Thank you for your generous donation on purchasing these wonderful math games. The students are working very hard in preparing for the citywide, and by having the children play games and learning math strategies takes a lot of stress off them. Again, many thanks from a hard working class!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rita Oliva

    Funded Oct 25, 2006

Words cannot express how thankful I am for your very generous donation on purchasing a laminating machince for our classroom. I like to laminate all the children's special projects so they can cherish them forever. I am 32 years old, and I have so many things from when I was in school. I just wish they were all laminated to keep their shapes and colors. Thank you!”

  • In Need of a Listening Center

    Funded Oct 25, 2006

Thank you so much for your generous donation on purchasing a listening center for our classroom. Listening is a big part of learning, especially when the children speak another language at home. Many of our children speak another language at home, and a listening center will help them with many of their reading skills. Thank you for all your help!”

  • Take Us Around The World!!

    Funded Aug 5, 2006

Thank you for your very generous donation on purchasing materials to help us learn more about our mapping skills. You would be amazed on how many of the children think that Brooklyn is the United States. Our children come form low income families and many of them don't travel to other parts of the country. Now with the resources you have purchased for us, they can visually see that there are more parts of the world. Again, many thanks!

I am a first grade teacher in a title one school. We are located in a socio-economic community where 95% of the children are English Language Learners and their parents are immigrants who do not speak the English language. Moving down to first grade from teaching the upper grades was the best decision I ever made. Teaching the lower grades has been so rewarding so many ways. I love being with them and teaching them. Its not only about helping them read and do math. It's so much more, its about teaching them who they are as little people.
