Our school is implementing a STEAM based curriculum. At this age children are just beginning to understand many concepts such as the idea of working together, problem solving, reading, comprehension, and independence. That’s why this kit would be a wonderful addition to my classroom. This project will help my students with lifelong problem solving skills. Because at this age most of my students are hands on learners and new to a school setting, this project will give them a chance to explore, create, and collaborate in small groups. The kit will help the fairy tales come alive for the students, which in turn will open the door for students to develop a love of reading. This will give them a chance to rewrite the endings to popular fairy tales along with developing real world skills that be will useful in the day to day activities in our classroom. Through the use of these kits my students will become budding engineers through the world of literature. They will begin to understand reading concepts like problem and solution even at this early age along with valuable real world skills.
