  • Digital Citizenship: Technology Center

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

Your generosity has given me and my students the opportunity to have a 21st-century classroom. The children have gained experience with using a computer and they have had the chance to use their age-appropriate programs. These computers have truly been an asset in our classroom for independent work and partner storytime.

Every day that the students come to class they look forward to their turn on the computers and being able to advance their skills. They love being able to share these activities with their friends.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rey

  • Classroom Storage

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

With your generosity, I have had the opportunity to improve my instructional learning formats. Using the shelving and clear storage bins provided I have given my students the freedom of exploration in the centers. The shelving allows for the students to reach all their materials and independently participate in activities. The clear storage bins allow for the students to understand the organization and they make the materials and toys inviting through a visual appeal.

Thank you so much for all your help to improve my classroom, I am so happy to have such kind hearts donating to my classroom.”

  • Striving for Success: Distance Learning!

    Funded Apr 12, 2021

With the school year of 2020-2021 feeling a little weird to most students and teachers, I was able to provide my students with book bags with supplies for them to continue their learning while on summer vacation with your help. At a time where most parents felt like their children lost a year of learning, as donors you were able to give them the hope that their child will strive for success even through the tough unknown times.

The children were given the opportunity to expand their learning and have new materials and toys they would have never had the chance to have before. I truly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness.

Thank you again for always considering me and my classroom.”

  • Completing Our Learning Centers

    Funded Apr 12, 2021

I am so grateful for your interest in donating to my classroom. The supplies you provided have helped greatly in completing the centers and giving the students the opportunity to explore new things. The table set has given me the opportunity to have a writing center where they can buddy up with social distancing and develop their fine motor skills. The bookshelf has finally given me the opportunity to give the children a library that they can access easily with forward-facing books. I am eternally grateful and cannot imagine what this classroom would be like without your help.”

  • Diversity Is Needed!

    Funded Dec 14, 2020

Your donation came at the perfect time. Due to Winter Recess, I received the materials at home but was able to return to school with Christmas gifts from the wonderful donors. When the children saw all the diverse toys they received the excitement on their faces was unbelievable. I am so incredibly thankful for your help in adding such amazing materials to our centers. The baby dolls have brought so much diversity into our classroom; the children can now feel welcomed and comfortable in the classroom. The vinyl figures have expanded their imagination in the blocks and building center.

The children spend every day playing with the toys and expanding their creativity, diverse experiences, and imagination in the classroom. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

  • Designing a Safe and Fun Environment

    Funded Aug 26, 2020

I truly appreciate your kindness in donating to my project. With all the challenges we have faced this year, the supplies from this project really came at the perfect time. I was able to provide my students with the exact type of environment I was hoping for. The supplies were used in many different ways throughout the class.

Each table fits 2 students following guidelines and with the tape, I was able to give them a defined area to call theirs. The tape was also used to create a box on the floor where they can sit and still be socially distanced; this gives them a flexible seating option for certain activities. The storage bins provided are used as their personal supply box at their table; this helps them learn about organization.

Finally, the chart paper provided is used to enhance my online lessons. At the age of 4 and 5 when learning about the letters, it is more effective when they watch the teacher write as opposed to writing on the computer, this way they learn about the form of the letter and what it should look like.

My students and I are eternally grateful for your contribution and consideration to donate to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rey

  • Distance Learning Read-a-Louds!

    Funded May 28, 2020

With the return to the classroom, my distance learning project supplied my classroom with a portable library. In our program, we are still required to have books for the children to learn to handle (they are sanitized after each use). As 4 year old's, they love to pretend to read and make up their own stories as they look at the pictures.

When using books, the students learn about the parts of the book (front cover, back cover, and spine). They also learn about who the author and illustrator are; this exposes them to a new type of career they may not have been familiar with.

Books are a very special way to introduce students to a whole new world. The diverse books from this provides my students with the opportunity to find illustrations they can relate to.

My students and I are very incredibly thankful for the donations from the Donors Choose Community; look forward to all the endless possibilities these books are going to provide for my students.”

  • Enhancing Our Creativity

    Funded Feb 28, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation. My students will really appreciate the materials so we can have more fun in our creativity center! I can't wait for them to see the new materials. They will be looking forward to being able to be more creative in their favorite center.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rey

My students attend a Title 1 school which means that nearly all students receive free or reduced lunch. Our school struggles with resources to keep up with the times and to replace any broken or damaged resources. As a teacher, my goal is to provide my students with the best experience in school that I possibly can; with your help this can be possible. School is a huge part of their lives and I simply want to make it a place they want to be and enjoy to be.
