Groups on the Go!
Funded Oct 14, 2021Thank you for supporting me and my students. I am looking forward to planning cycles of clubs for my students at lunch and using this technology to support our goals. This will be an opportunity for students to explore new interests while building friendships and relearning how to socialize now that we are back together in the building.”

Funded Apr 9, 2019This trip was amazing!
The children were so excited for the weeks and days leading up to the trip. They were sure to come prepared for the overnight stay. The same excitement was shared by the chaperones. When we entered the museum, students were in awe at the fact that we were part of a small group of people sleeping over this night. We had full access to all the exhibits with little or no crowds. Students took time reading the plaques at the foot at the exhibit and going to their favorite parts of the museum.
The live animal show and the IMAX movie had to be the student's top events of the evening. The snakes, eagles, owls and alligators were brought around to everyone to see up close and we were able to learn facts about each one. The IMAX movie share the importance of keeping our ocean cleans and the effects climate change has on animal populations.
The most gratifying moment of this trip for me was watching students build community with each other and share their last elementary trip together- a trip they will never forget. Cots were set close together and students whispered to each other, giggled and shared jokes. Students read books together before bedtime. Students walked over to chaperones to wish them goodnight. The following morning students shared toothpaste and helped each other carry belonging to the cafeteria for breakfast. On the bus returning to school the next morning, students chatted among themselves and told each other how lucky they were to have had this opportunity and what an amazing time they had. They knew this was a special event and they were grateful.
Although at first this trip seemed like a far fetched dream for us but, with your support, we made it happen. I want students to know to set their goals high and work hard to achieve the impossible- with a little help from some friends.
Thank you friends for giving my students an experience they will never forget.”

We can reach for gold if we have Chrome(books)!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your donation!
These Chromebooks will increase the access to technology in our classrooms. Right now each classrooms is allocated 6 laptops per classroom, but because of this donation a classroom will have extra Chromebooks to use. Our students use the Chromebooks to research topics, publish their writing and practice math skills in math centers. Many of our students don't have access to technology on a regular basis, so when they are able to get on during class it is a big deal. In the past students sometimes had to share laptops, but now more students will be able to use the laptops independently. I am also looking forward to new ways we can incorporate the use of these laptops into instruction now that we have more.”

Funded Sep 5, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donation of these dictionary sets. My students especially love to use the thesaurus to fine more precise words to include in their writing. My students understand that these books will be used by future students as well, and take special care of these resource materials.
My students feel especially proud of their work when they share their writing with others and see have the readers comment on their vocabulary usage. "Wow that's a 6th grade word!" is their favorite complement to hear from peers and my colleagues. I know the importance of an extensive vocabulary and am sure, that because of this donation, my students will be able to grow their vocabulary.”
