  • Alphabet Fun!

    Funded Jun 6, 2018

Our Alphabet Fun materials that you made possible with your generous donations have been a hit since the first week of school. Students have been able to explore, get their hands on and work on their fine motors skills in a fun way, making their first school experience memorable! The Magna tiles has given the students the opportunity to use their imagination to build fascinating structures. The Alphabet Center, The Alphabet Mats, the dough, and The Letter Activity Center is providing the students with the opportunity to have daily practice with every letter of the alphabet. All these centers gives the students the opportunity to develop letter sound recognition and practice writing and tracing proper letter formation. Our Transitional Kindergarten classroom is an amazing place to be and learn and you made it possible by enhancing our learning experiences with your donations.”

  • Transitional Kindergarten and Laptops!

    Funded Jan 22, 2013

I want to thank you again for your generous donation. Having a laptop in the classroom has helped my students tremendously. The laptop is use in a daily basis and about 5 different students benefit from using it everyday.

We are able to access the technology component of our envision math program thanks to the laptop. We also use the laptop to review and/or practice phonemic awareness activities.

It gives the students additional opportunities to practice what they have been learning in the classroom. Every single student enjoys using the laptop and they are becoming more experience and more knowledgeable as time goes by. All thanks to your generosity.”

  • Transitional Kindergarten, Dramatic Play with a Purpose!

    Funded Jan 17, 2013

I want to take a few minutes to thank you for your generous donations. I strongly believe that "play" time in the classroom is very important.

With the multi-ethnic set of dolls, the building blocks, and the community vehicles set that were donated to our classroom, my students are able to pretend to take roles in life that in the future they will be performing. They pretend taking the role of someone in charge, someone making decisions, etc. While playing they are developing the sense of belonging and being responsible for someone or something. Dramatic play is helping them develop social skills and at the same time they are having fun.

Once again, thank you for making a difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Repreza

  • Just Keep Moving!

    Funded Jun 6, 2012

I want to express how happy I feel now that my students are able to use the materials we got.

It was all possible because of your generosity.

My students are able to go outside to the playground and now they have equipment to play with.  They love the nature stilts.  The hula hoops are not only use to make them go around their waist, but

they are use on the ground as markers to hop.

But I have to say that their favorite is the beanbag toss game.  It helps them with eye and hand coordination, and also helps them to recognize letters, numbers, colors and shapes.  Thank you so much for donating to our project”

  • Transitional Kindergarten, Need to Hear It!

    Funded Apr 25, 2012

I would like to take a moment to once again thank every single one of you who donated to our classroom project. My students are very happy with our new sound system. They love to begin their day listening to their favorite Kindergarten songs.

During music and movement time, they enjoy moving to the rhythm of the music. The songs sound very clear and we don't have to worry about the CD being scratched, and not being able to listen to the songs without any interruptions.

    Thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Repreza

My class in composed of mainly Hispanic students. Our students are either immigrant students or first generation born here in the U.S. They try really hard to learn, but sometimes not having the language makes it more challenging. Our school is a Title I school. Our students ALL receive free state meals. Most of our students are economically disadvantaged. Our school is in a rough neighborhood, the students feel safe when they are in school grounds. Our students come from hard working families.
