I am so excited to teach 3rd grade this year. I've substituted K-5 and absolutely love this age group. However, substituting is quite a bit different than being a full-time teacher. I'm transitioning from classrooms that have had years to accumulate supplies and equipment into a classroom of my very own. It's pretty bare right now. I want my students to have the tools they need to flourish. As a new teacher, I have very few supplies and have to build up my classroom. That's where you can help. Be a champion to my students. Help supply them with needed items, like dry erase lapboards they can use to solve problems and share their work. Make their lives easier with organizational tools, like storage bins and folders for their subjects. Keep them well stocked with smaller items that add up, like glue, pencils, and crayons. We all know the supplies kids bring at the beginning of the year only go so far. This is your opportunity to invest in the future of 3rd graders, our leaders of tomorrow. On behalf of my students (and myself), we thank you for your support.
