Full Speed Ahead for the 2016-2017 School Year
Funded Aug 29, 2016On behalf of my 7th and 8th grade science classes, I would like to thank you for the supplies that were donated to my classroom. These items have greatly helped my class have a great start to the 2016-2017 school year.
A lot of the resources have been put to great use. For example, with the Science World Magazine subscription, the students were able to read about the effects of GPS systems through playing Pokemon Go. The 8th graders were able to read about cloning of the sheep Dolly as they studied Heredity and Genetics.Seventh grade students were able to read about caves and the formation of minerals as they study Geology. Students were able to draw cells and items that they were able to view through the microscopes. There were plenty of anchor charts made for classroom use with the chart paper and the markers that were donated. Students were thrilled to see the Kindle. The Kindle has been used for differentiated instruction. Students have the opportunity to use the Kindle as part of the technology station in the science class. Some students are able to view a brain pop video or watch a science clip related to the content if they are stuck on a particular concept in Science.
The students were very happy to see the supplies when they arrived for school. Some students did not have the required supplies needed to start the school year and the materials helped a lot of those students. Students felt like they were ready to start the school year because their classroom had materials that made them feel ready to learn.
Once again, I am very happy that this project was funded. The students really needed these supplies to start the school year. We can not thank our donors enough.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Jones
Let's Get Cutting
Funded May 29, 2014Dear Donors,
My students were very happy with the materials they received for their dissection projects. Science really came alive in the classroom. The students were able to learn various parts of the frog and they were able to receive a true inquiry based learning experience. Some students even were talking about becoming doctors after their experience with the dissection kits. The students were very excited when they saw the kits and materials. The students loved this experience and I will do this activity with every class thanks to the materials that were provided to my class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Jones
