Thank you for generous donations. Your generosity will help students will all different abilities discover their lvoe for reading after going through a pandemic that forced these students to be home for over a year. Thank you so much for all of the generous donation! These tablets are going to make such an amazing impact on my students. This will give them a new learning opportunity that I believe we do nothing but improve the skills that they struggle to develop. Thank you for the support!”

    Funded Aug 30, 2019

The materials that I have received have impacted my students in such a positive way. The first change in the classroom is having the bouncy bands. A lot of the time, my children are unable to keep still. The bouncy bands have given each child an outlet. They are now free to bounce their legs around all day without distracting their peers. This also helps them stay on task.

The flexible seating materials are a huge hit in my classroom. We have received a yellow bean bag chair, a blue bean bag chair, a blue bouncy ball and a teal bouncy ball. My third grade students like to sit on these while they are learning math. This motivates the children to do their work. This is also good for students to use when they are working independently. Flexible seating accommodates a series of different needs.

The guided reading books have been very useful in our class. They give children the opportunity to read in a risk-free setting while accommodating the variety of different leveled readers in the room.

I appreciate everyone who has helped make my classroom environment more welcoming and accommodating to the needs of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Regina

As a special education teacher, there is more pressure to get your students on level, let alone prepared for the next year. Many children are not on level and struggle to get there. As a new teacher, it is hard to determine what books to buy because of being unsure about their level. Due to the fact that some special education children are behind the level, they should be on, there must be multiple levels from all different grades. The guided reading bundles are to ensure that each child will have multiple books on their level to read. The different seating accommodations are to create a flexible seating room. Students with disabilities may not always be able to focus while sitting in a typical chair. They can get distracted or bored. When children have bouncy bands on their desk or able to choose their seating, it is more likely that they will be comfortable and motivated to work.
