Classroom Chromebooks!
Funded Mar 19, 2021I want to thank you so much for the donation that you made to my classroom which went towards a new set of chromebooks. Not only have you touched me, but you've touched all of my students. Last school year, when these arrived, my students were over the moon! These allowed my hybrid students to continue working on assignments that they started at home. It allowed for continuity and structure in a very unknown and constantly changing time. It's incredible how much structure and predictability were craved in the classroom, and you gave that to them. This year, many of us had to begin the year without computers / chromebooks because so many devices were lent out to students. My new students were shocked to see that we had a set. Now that so many of them are now much more proficient with technology, they want to use it to extend their research, read books that we don't have in our library, explore sites that we use in the classroom, or even create digital art during free time. Many of them prefer typing to writing, and are able to record their thoughts more proficiently this way. Thank you so much for helping us out. We are beyond grateful.”

Funded Aug 18, 2017We use these PERFECT seat sacks every SINGLE day! Each student feels like they have a special place to store their notebooks and folders. As a result, everyone feels valued because they have a special secure place for their belongings.
When these arrived the kids were over the moon. They couldn't believe that people who didn't know them would want to help them out. I couldn't believe it as well, and have spent a lot of time admiring their new belongings and our organized room.
We've saved so much learning time, arguments over supplies have been eliminated, and we are all extremely grateful. We will use these as long as they stay in one piece! Thank you all for being so kind and generous.”

Funded Sep 3, 2015Our Chromebooks have been such an engaging addition to the classroom! We now have a Google Classroom account, so the class has been able to complete assignments in the drive that we create for them. The assignments have been much more interactive, and our class can't get enough! We have found many students logging into their accounts to complete extra work (on their own) over the weekend! RAZ Kids is another site that we've been utilizing for Guided Reading. It has been so wonderful to have enough working computers for everyone to access their accounts! "Math Playground" has allowed kids to deconstruct math problems in a very visual way. We have much more planned as the year continues. Students are excited to log into their Scholastic accounts, and try out "Storyjumper," in writing. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE. We all are incredibly grateful!!”

Computers for 3rd Graders!!
Funded Sep 21, 2014THANK YOU SO MUCH for the six chromebooks! They have been so much fun for the class to use! They are completely user friendly and faster than the rest of our technological devices. Our class has worked as a team to help eachother become very tech savvy 3rd graders. Today we built word clouds to help us learn our new word study words, which made learning new vocabulary words a much more stimulating experience. We were able to integrate art, technology, and word study into one lesson, which captured the interest of EVERY student in the room! The class has also been able to CODE, explore books outside of the classroom, and we will now start using the chromebooks to begin a project on the Brooklyn Bridge. We are ALL so excited because of you!
Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts!!”

Scholastic Magazines for the Year!
Funded Aug 30, 2014We can't thank you enough for the subscription to Scholastic magazine! Not only have we been reading the magazines, but we've also been utilizing the online resources! The kids absolutely love the videos, games, and quizzes! These have all helped to get the kids emersed in the articles, and we are now having some of the most engaging discussions that we've ever had. They are becoming experts on so many current events and loving the process! Thank you all for your kindness, generosity, and support. It means the world to us!”

Scrapbooking, Friendship Bracelets, And Fun Memories!
Funded Dec 28, 2010I I am so sorry for the delay in this thank you note! I had to wait some time to use the materials, but we are finally getting the chance to use them and it's so exciting! My students have been having the BEST time using the books as artists and writers. We have had so many art supplies donated to use with them and we're building memories and sharing them with our friends.
I can't thank you enough for donating these materials. This gives my kids a project that they can truly call their own. They create their own masterpieces in these scrapbooks and share them like artists. They come up with their own ideas and take ownership of each project, which is inspiring.
Thank you for being such a giving, generous, and caring person. I wish their were more people like you in the world. Our class would've never had the chance to do this without you. I'm sending you the biggest hug. We love you!!
Thank you again!”

Funded Dec 28, 2010I am still blown away by your generosity! When my newsletter club received the package of digital cameras, they were ecstatic! I kept it as a surprise so they would really feel the excitement, and boy did they feel it! They immediately asked if they could open the packages, put the cameras together, and take pictures for their articles. They did just that, and the first newsletter went out this week. My students delivered the articles and were SO PROUD! It was nine pages long filled with pictures from around the school. Three students insisted on writing articles on how much they loved Newsletter and Yearbook club. Some excerpts from their articles are as follows:
"We are working very hard on our articles! We are interviewing people around the school and taking pictures of projects and events. On the first day we took turns putting together our new digital cameras! We took pictures to go with our articles and we helped each other to fix mistakes. We are so proud of our work!"
"We were so excited when we heard about the cameras! Some people even brought their pads of paper home to finish their first draft. We all had fun and did a great job helping each other!"
"This club is so cool! It's all about writing and giving out newsletters every month. I wish we could give out 20 a month, but it's harder than you think. I hope you enjoy it!"
This proves that the cameras have helped my students stay engaged and excited about learning. People like you who choose to help in the way you did, bring magic to the world. Thank you. We all love you!”

Funded Dec 30, 2008What a great way to wake up this morning. I literally have tears in my eyes right now! It means so much to see that people go on DonorsChoose.org and really, truly help a classroom full of people whom they don't even know. This is the best holiday present that I ever could have asked for. I can share so much more with my class now... they are going to be thrilled!
I can't thank you enough for reaching out. It is people like you that make the world a better place. I really can't wait to share this gift with my students. I am sending a huge hug via email! =)
