  • Replacement Art Supplies

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for donating replacement art supplies for my students. They really enjoy any time they have the opportunity to do art and/or hands on activities in the classroom- especially since returning from pandemic. The art projects and activities really help them learn the information while having fun. The Mr. Sketch markers bring back the nostalgia of childhood for my teenage students. They love smelling them every time I bring them out. The entire process lowers stress while giving students the opportunity to learn.”

  • HEPA Filter to Stop the Spread

    Funded Jan 17, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation of the HEPA filter and masks to stop the spread. The filter has helped decrease my absentee rate and also made my students feel safe. Because of your donation, more students are coming to class and learning the necessary material.

Additionally, the supply of masks have been very helpful. Students ask for masks a few times a week, and they know that I always have some in stock. The black ones are very popular; therefore, my classroom is a popular spot for students to come visit. This helps me build relationships with students and support them on a socio-emotional level.

Thank you so much for helping to support my students in academics, health, and socio-emotional.”

  • Creative Products for Shark Tank

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

My students were so excited to get the Cricut Air machine for the Econ Fair Projects. They spent copious hours trying to design and come up with real products to sell for this project. They used their critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, communication and collaboration skills, and creativity. This project helped them understand financial literacy by calculating total revenue, input costs, and profit/loss. It helped them practice communication skills with their group and their customers. They also learned marketing skills as they advertised their products on campus. Finally, they showed all of their hard work in a Shark Tank Presentation. The real life application makes the subject relevant, while the project based learning make learning the information fun and memorable.

This is all thanks to your generous donation. On behalf of my students and myself, thank you. They wouldn't have had to opportunity to have this great experience without your donation.”

  • Warm Welcome Back

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

Thank you so much for helping me give a warm welcome back to my students by donating stamps and postcards. My students were so surprised and thankful when they received a postcard at home from their teacher. All of them came up to me personally and thanked me. This helped me show that I cared about them and helped me build relationships with them early in the school year.

As the school year has progressed, and I continue to build relationships with my students, many still mention the impact of the postcard home. The personalized note was a nice touch and helped lower the anxiety of coming back to school after being online for over a year.

Thanks again for helping bring a warm welcome back to my students.”

  • Help Bring Back The Love for History

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

After learning remote for almost two years, the students are happy to be back in class. However, they are not happy to be back on computers. Thank you so much for your generous donation of a teachers pay teachers gift card.

Teachers pay teachers has a plethora of lessons to browse through that will help bring back movement, collaboration, and, most importantly, fun to our classroom. The students miss these things the most. Thanks to your donation, I can incorporate as many activities as possible in to each unit.

The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive from the students. Although some are rusty from lack of interaction, all are thankful to be given the opportunity to interact with each other. These interactions have yielded positive results in attitudes, attendance, and test scores. You have made such a positive impact on their learning. On behalf of myself and my students- thank you.”

  • Virtual Civil Rights Movie Day

    Funded May 27, 2021

Thank you so much for helping make virtual movie day a success in my classroom. I know my students were having a hard year during virtual learning. Your donation brought a smile to their faces and helped increase in participation and engagement.

It all started with a Civil Rights research project. Students got to research and report back on a Civil Rights movement of choice (women, African American, Mexican American, Native American, Asian American, etc). They then shared their research in a virtual gallery walk. Then event cumulated with a Virtual Civil Rights Movie Day as a reward.

Your donation allowed for all students to pick up candy, popcorn, and water from the school. The students loved that this potentially boring online day was turned into an event- a movie day with snacks and friends. Your donation allowed students to further their research of Civil Rights by giving them tools to continue research such as a Civil Rights journals, books, buttons, and gift cards. By raffling off these items to students that submitted their Civil Rights projects, it increased student participation and engagement. Almost every single student submitted a research project. And almost every single student showed up for the raffle. They were all extremely excited and thankful to win. Thank you so much for helping my students get excited and inquisitive about The Civil Rights Movement.”

  • Supplies Needed for Cold War Event Album Cover Assignment

    Funded Aug 18, 2019

Thank you so much for the art supplies for the Cold War Album Cover project. My students really enjoyed the Mr. Sketch markers. Even though they are high school age, they spent most of the period smelling the markers.

The project itself was a success. The students impressed me with their creativity in the album cover design and with their knowledge of the Cold War. The school shut down shortly after we started the assignment. The students took pictures of their work and shared it with the entire class.

The project was so successful that my US history team plans on doing it every year with our students. I will be able to use the album covers for a few years (as students were in groups rather than individuals).”

    Mrs. Martinez

  • School Supplies Needed for Success

    Funded Nov 22, 2017

Thank you so much for contributing supplies to my classroom. My students and I are very grateful for your generosity and your support.

I currently have a box of supplies available for nine table groups. The students share these supplies every day to perform basic tasks such as cutting and gluing things into their notebooks, highlighting and annotating texts, and writing summaries on stickie notes. They also use these supplies for projects such as posters, presentation materials, and tri-folds.

Many of my students come from low income families. These students do not have the means to get basic supplies such as pens, glue, highlighters, and notebooks. Some of the students are too embarrassed to ask for supplies. I am thankful that, with your help, I am able to provide them with supplies.”

  • Supplies for a 12th Grade Economics Fair

    Funded Nov 30, 2016

It is difficult to describe in words what an impact your donation has had on my students. The most important impact is that my students felt like someone cared enough to donate to them. Because my students are older, they are not used to people giving them things. Even though they are teenagers, they are still kids at heart. They love the little things like the Scrub Daddy prizes and using the brand new markers and materials.

Your donations allowed my students to create awesome projects for our Economics fair. Many students could not have afforded these items on their own. The students worked very hard all semester creating their own original product, conducting market research, creating an ad campaign, calculating break- even points and profit margins. Your supplies allowed them to present their research in amazing and creative ways. The Econ Fair was the talk of the school for days. The students were able to take pride in their work and inspire others.

I plan to do another Econ fair each semester (as my course is a semester course). I hope that the students will be able to continue to take pride in themselves and their work. Many of my students plan on opening their own businesses as a result of this project. Thank you donors for helping my students achieve greatness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Martinez

One of the final projects in my economics class is based of the show "Shark Tank." The premise of the show is for entrepreneurs to get investments from the "Sharks" by giving a good sales pitch and participating in a Q and A. My students will be working in cooperative learning groups over the course of the semester. They will be collaborating in many ways, both inside and outside of the classroom. They will need supplies such as color markers, pens, scissors, and glue to use throughout the project. They really need large display boards for the economics fair to display their factors of production, demand surveys, input costs, and products. They will use these items to create a product together, conduct market research, create and advertising strategy, and create a sales pitch for our classroom "Sharks" (who will be played by the students from other groups).
