Basic Supplies for Art 1 and AP Art and Design
Funded Oct 14, 2022We were able to use the Prang watercolor class set as soon as it arrived on the Cubism-inspired bottle project. We also added black outlines to push the graphic design quality and add contrast with the gel pens we received. While some students were able to bring in a few of their own supplies, those that wanted to use watercolors but did not have access we're able to finish the project in a more creative and expressive way with high quality watercolor. In addition, we were able to complete a watercolor sfx lesson where we first learned special effects by making a sampler and then chose our favorites to complete a landscape scene focused on a specific location or biome.
When the supplies arrived, students that had not heard about donors choose asked that I propose another project so that family members could also donate and were all excited about unpacking and labeling/
In the future, we hope to work with paint on a non-objective sculpture project that involves wood blocks, wire, and nylon fabric stretched over the armature. We also want to add more murals to our mostly plain, large campus, so acrylic paint would be extremely beneficial in the future along with a Prismacolor colored pencil class set so we can make more high school level vibrant artwork on many of the weekly major projects we complete.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Reagan
