In my classroom, I work with students who are struggling readers, but they want to become fluent readers. Struggling readers usually read in a monotone voice which makes every character sound the same. We want to change it! How can you help us? We would like to present a new way to improve fluency, accuracy, and prosody. It can be done through skits and plays using puppets as characters. When puppets are used in role-playing, students will learn to use voice inflection to give characters their own personality and voice.
