  • Read to Succeed

    Funded Apr 12, 2023

While it has been some time since your donations helped to fund our project, the impact it has had in just a few short months this year is immense.

Our students have been able to reinforce their phonics and reading lessons with age appropriate decodable texts. The vivid images and engaging texts have become such strong motivators while using these book sets with our small groups.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support of our students and their ability to use appropriate texts to supplement their reading instruction!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. M

  • Diverse Library for Speech Therapy

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

Thank you for the positive impact you have had on the quality of speech therapy my students have been able to receive this year. The wonderful stories and beautiful illustrations of our new books have allowed us to get our minds off the chaos that is ever present in the world today. My students have enjoyed taking their pick from our new library and discussing all the new characters we come across. With our new diverse library, my students have been able to identify commonalities between the stories' characters and their own lives, as well as learn about new cultures and ways of life in various parts of the world. Thank you endlessly for motivating my students and providing us with stories to read together during this unique school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. M

This classroom project was brought to life by AT&T and 7 other donors.
In looking ahead to the coming school year, I am looking through a different lens and thinking about what my students could benefit from whether we are together in person, virtually, or a combination of the two. One thing I know for certain is that no matter where, or how, I am providing speech therapy, having a diverse library to share with my students will inspire them and enhance their engagement. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. They need to see themselves represented in what they listen to or read in order to further appreciate both their own, and others', cultures. With your help, I will be able to diversify my speech and language therapy library in order to celebrate the many cultures my students represent, as well as allow my students to feel seen through the books we explore!
