Our school is a Title I school. It is among the lowest socioeconomic areas in this city. More than 90% of the students are Hispanic. Many of whom speak Spanish primarily in the home. Reading is a subject and part of life that has not been the focus in many of their homes. We are creating scientific projects increasing literacy using a new reading strategy using color with a purpose.
