My students are 11th and 12th graders taking AP Biology in one of California's poorest cities, these students are taking on a challenging college level course and it is my job as their teacher to give them the best academic experience I possibly can with limited resources and funding, so I use donors choose to get up to date lab supplies and equipment. Our students are surrounded by a high crime rate, a high drop out rate, and high poverty statistics, but yet they come to class eager to learn.
Giving students more hands on experiences will not only motivate their learning but bring out their curiosity about the plant we all inhabit. My goal is to establish a love of life long learning in all my students.
