  • Strumming Success: Enhancing Our Stage Presence with Guitar Equipment

    Funded Aug 19, 2024

I would like to thank you once again donating to our guitar program. We are grateful for items purchased that has assisted with better audio quality of our guitar performances. The mics have assisted with projecting our nylon and steel string guitars. The bass guitar has encouraged a few students not only learn to play, but also ask their parents for their own guitar.

The bass guitar is use often in class and has performed in 2 concerts we have had. The mics were used in our Fall Concert to project sound from some of our guitars. The student that the bass was assigned to was very excited and has been excited since he has been able to play it.

Our next steps for our guitar program is to focus on upcoming performances and becoming better sight readers.”

  • Music Productions in the Making

    Funded May 29, 2024

I would like to thank you so much for supporting our Fine Arts piano, chorus and guitar departments at our school. Your donation of a projector, projector screen, speaker stand and chords will assist with improving our sound during our performances, add creative and memorable experiences with students, and teach our students how to manage and navigate school productions. Our previous productions suffered many unforeseen technical and sound issues which cause a little bit of disappointment to some of our students who worked really hard. Every year, our students make plans to showcase their talent by creating different means of performing to avoid technical difficulties. The projector and screen was requested to display recorded performances throughout the year to show parents and friends. The speaker stand and the cable will be used as part of creating our own in stage sound without the use of the (auditorium) house sound which has failed during our performances. This year, our department is required to complete 2 productions during the school year. These items will be used for both productions.

Once again, thank you for supporting our fine arts program. This means a great deal to our students who create and perform in our themed productions each year.”

  • 88 Problems, but Practicing Piano Isn't One

    Funded Dec 30, 2023

I would like to thank you a great deal for donating to our piano program at our school. The piano program has increased in numbers a great deal over the past year and I was struggling to make sure that every student had the opportunity to practice during and in class.

The keyboards received are very popular among the students. I teach 2 keyboard classes with 30 students in each class The keyboards promote individual practice time in class and is convenient that the keyboards are rechargeable. This is a great feature as the piano lab does not have many outlets; therefore, students can practice on these keyboards without it being plugged up. Additionally, the new keyboards enhances classroom management, allowing students to have the same amount of time to practice on the keyboards.

I cannot thank you enough for your support to our Fine Arts piano program. Thank you so much for considering giving to our program and to our students who are greatly appreciative of you and your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Allen

  • 88 Keys to Success

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our piano program at our school! The resources that we received were helpful to our students learning to play the piano.

The piano classes have increased in numbers; therefore, more keyboards were needed in the class and for students to take home and practice. All of the resource books that were donated were used to assist with instruction and practice in the classroom. Some of the students were able to participate in a few performances as well as accompany the choir. This allowed these students to gain an everlasting experience in playing the piano during high school. These resource books also supplemented instruction and provided more hands on and visual activities for students who needed more practice with the piano. Once again, thank you so much for your contribution to our piano program at our school.”

  • Lead Guitar Students into Success

    Funded Sep 30, 2022

I would like to personally thank you donating to our guitar program. The resources purchased from the project allowed my students to become more successful in the classroom by playing more efficiently and with confidence.

The footstools promoted better posture among the students which decreased stiffness in the neck and back. The books created excitement and engagement among the students to play familiar ensemble songs expanding from our daily routine. The guitar ensemble books also increased students' ability to sight read better which eliminates time from teaching the notes.

We have had a successful year of performing due to the items that were funded in this project. With this success, we hoped that the performances have been able to recruit more students in the school to sign up for guitar class. Thank you so much for sponsoring our guitar program at our school!”

  • Sing; All Voices Matter

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

I would like to thank you once again for donating microphones, cables and stands to our fine arts program. The items are greatly appreciated! We have had several technical issues in the past where our performances were not fully heard by our audience because of the lack of equipment. This is very discouraging to our students who have worked and practiced so hard. With these items, our students are able to practice and perform in the classroom, in the auditorium, and in the cafeteria so that their hard work doesn't go un-notice. Students in the choral program are especially excited to use this equipment for the upcoming winter and big spring performances to showcase their talent. They are hoping the equipment will be used to recruit more voices to our program.

Thank you for giving our students the opportunity to be heard and to shine!”

  • Wipe Me Down, and Clean the Air

    Funded Feb 5, 2021

I would like to thank you so much for donating to our classroom. The students and I always take precaution of our health especially during these times; therefore we greatly appreciate your gift of air purifiers for our chorus room. These purifiers in our room allowed us to feel safe and assured .

When the students became aware of the purpose of the purifiers, they were very appreciative and became more aware of the distancing and safety protocols at hand. They also volunteered to wipe down the seats in between classes.

Clean air is important especially in the choral classroom. Sometimes we have to pull down our mask to explain or perform a specific concept when learning vocal techniques. These purifiers and wipes definitely reassured the entire classroom and allowed everyone to feel safe.

Once again, thank you so much for keeping our choral classroom safe.”

  • Take A Stand, Musically!

    Funded Sep 28, 2018

I would like to thank you so much for supporting our guitar program at our school. Even though our program is still in its building process, we are grateful for your contribution to our program. The look on their faces when we received the stands was priceless.

The students are very grateful for the music stands for their class. As soon as the shipment came in, the students were eager to put them together themselves without any help. The students also painted "Guitar" on all of the stands. This helped our class tremendously because previously, we would either project our music on the doc camera and use chairs to prop our books during instruction. This caused students to have incorrect posture when holding their guitar; and other students had a hard time viewing the music and lesson books. With these stands, students are able to see their music and lesson books, and correct their posture.

Although our guitar program is very small, we appreciate the support from donors like you who value the importance of music education. On behalf of the guitar program, I just want to thank you so much for the guitar stands for our students; it means a great deal to the students and to the program.”

  • Dress to Impress!

    Funded Apr 25, 2018

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity for our "Dress to Impress" project. Your donation of shoes, socks, pants, and clothing organization has made a difference in our students and program! We are truly grateful for donors like you!

All of the items have been and will be used in performing, interviews and auditions for our students. The female students were happy to be able to wear the shoes during our beginning of the year performances and were very appreciative of them. They have also created an organizing system of the uniforms and other attire for the chorus so that students in our program have easy access to clothing items they may need. The shelf and the dressing rack helped up stay organized and neat, freed up space in the teacher's office, and overall created a space for students to use clothing items when needed.

The men have been able to use the socks, shoes and pant during our performances as well. Male students of the chorus feel more appreciative and secure because they have the correct pants and shoe sizes for performances and other functions.

Overall, the students appreciate the support through the items that were donated to them. They have become more confident in performing and feel more secure with what their attire. Words cannot express how truly grateful I am to have your support in donating clothing items to our students! We greatly appreciate these items and your support!”

My students are extremely tech savvy. They are interested in technology based instruction that allows them to be competitive and instruction that provides instant feedback. The students are interested in private lessons in voice, piano and guitar. Students are very ambitious especially in performing a wide variety of music. Students are interested in classes such as piano, guitar, music technology, songwriting, and a Cappella ensembles. The school is a Title I school in a public school district. Before I arrived in 2012, there has not been a chorus/music teacher in the building for almost 5 years. Since the program has not been active for that long period of time, the program lacks specifics needed to make the program more functioning. The Fine Arts Program lacks adequate practice rooms, computers, storage, instruments, supplies, music, music technology software, Promethean boards and projectors, and uniforms.
