The availability of a Chromebook in the classroom specifically for student led research will allow my students to create and investigate their own questions about the impact of our topics on the natural world as they become relevant. For example, one case study we investigate while we are discussing energy is the effect of fossil fuels on our economy, environment, and society. When students have the ability to investigate their own questions, the material becomes personally relevant to their lives. Without a Chromebook easily accessible, students have no choice but to turn to the teacher to find their answers, instead of learning to research and find answers on their own.
