Supporting social emotional health is critical for providing a well-rounded education to children. I have children in my classroom who face many challenges at home and at school. These feelings are often brought into the classroom and can affect many aspects of their day. Giving students stress balls, fidget toys and materials in a dedicated area of the classroom will provide a calming area that they can go to when they need a moment to themselves. The resources I am requesting for my students include stress balls, fidgets, calming puzzle games, mini animal toys, sensory bottles, a drawing tablet, modelling dough, books to help identify their feelings, water beads, and a cart to put it all in. By donating to our project, you will be supporting student social emotional health and supporting their overall learning. I love my third grade kiddos so much and can see that this will provide a safe space for them. Students who feel safe and supported emotionally in a classroom are better prepared to succeed in their academics!
