Cricut-ing our Creativity!
Funded Jun 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations. My class has been very fortunate to ah e a Cricut machine to help us create professional and creative presentations. I was able to use the Cricut machine to make amazing bulletin boards with great custom letters and shapes. My students have been able to create one of a kind presentation boards on their Career Day Choices.
Being able to customize the letters to show their choice of paper designs and sizes really helped make their boards unique to them. They can't wait to display them throughout the school for all to see!
We can't wait to make our other posters and presentations throughout the year! Adding creative flair and customization has never been easier!”

Funded Oct 28, 2021Thank you so much for sharing the gift of color in my classroom. The students are soooo happy to be able to print their projects in color and have their work come to life the way they envisioned it. Our classroom environment is warm and welcoming and full of life and color. It's a cheerful space to come to and the students are proud to see their work displayed in color. The printer and ink you helped us receive has really changed the way we do our work (it's easier for me to differentiate different groups' works as well) and I can see the sense of accomplishment and pride in my students' eyes when they see their colorful work. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

Funded May 17, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity. Your contributions made it possible to give me and my class updated technology that helps me plan better lessons incorporating games and videos and visit places virtually. Updated technology has significantly decreased videos and apps not loading or freezing. My lessons are transitioning very smoothly and without interruptions of outdated technology, we are much more productive. My students are able to enjoy their lesson slides and presentations on the smart board and I am able to enjoy uninterrupted teaching.”

Funded Oct 29, 2020Thank you for your generous donations to my class. The colorful paper and post-its as well as stationary supplies have definitely livened up the classroom and make it very inviting. Colorful charts and student work line the walls and bulletin boards, thanks to you.
My students were very excited to get their own post-its and supplies to help bring their work to life and make it fun and attractive. Students have always enjoyed making posters and projects, and your donations have made the possible for this year.
It is wonderful walking into a bright and cheery classroom, even when the events in our world are stressful. The students look forward to coming to school and having an inviting space that makes them happy. I will continue to have them work on colorful projects that we can display proudly with the supplies you helped provide for us.”

Funded Oct 23, 2020Your generosity in such a challenging year has truly made getting the school year off to a great start so much easier. My students were hit hard by Covid and many had financial hardships, making it difficult to buy necessary classroom supplies. Thanks to charitable people like you, they didn't feel those affects in the classroom.
They were so excited when I was able to give them their own boxes of crayons, markers, colored pens, etc. that was theirs to keep. They still have their supplies and use them all the time when we are in class. My students who do not have these supplies are also careful to remember to bring them back and forth when we transition to remote classes as needed.
The charts are hung in my classroom and the students make great use of these as reference tools. They also enjoy creating their own posters and charts to present their work in class.
Although right now we are only completing individual projects, I cannot wait for my students to be able to work in small groups again to create group posters and charts for presentations.”

Funded Oct 11, 2020Thank you for your generous donations in helping my class and I have the necessary dry erase board for a successful start to the school year. The dry erase board has been a tremendous help in working with small groups and with the whole class. I write on it everyday for every subject, when we are in the building.
My students were thrilled when they saw the custodian bring it into our classroom. It may seem like something students wouldn't really pay attention to, but they were very appreciative. Two of my students said they can finally see what I'm writing because this board is nice and clean and smudge-free. They were also fascinated that it was magnetic and love how the eraser and magnets stick to it and that makes my life so much easier as well!
When we are not under quarantine, we will continue to use the dry erase board. I cannot wait for when students can be in small groups together and actually have an opportunity to use the board. I know in the future it will allow them the opportunity to show their answers and explain their thinking to their classmates.
We couldn't have had this wonderful and necessary classroom supply without your generosity.”

Funded Mar 1, 2019Thank you so much for giving my students this amazing opportunity to access technology in the classroom. There's a buzz and excitement around learning because we now have a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips. My students have been researching topics of their choice in Math, SS, and science, and they are so eager because they get to choose what they will research with the technology now available to them. They feel like they too are a part of the technology age and are understanding and appreciating the educational aspects of having technology accessible throughout the school day. From research, to educational games and math sites to increase understanding, they're really getting a well rounded education.. We couldn't have had these amazing resources without your generous help!”

Funded Oct 29, 2018Thank you so much for the generous donation towards our math magazines. We have really been enjoying these magazines. The students are engaged and eager to get the latest issues. They love seeing how their lives and world is connected to math, such as Wreck it Ralph.
We browse the magazines individually and then with partners. The kids are always so amazed looking at the pictures and reading the titles of the articles or checking out the graphs. We read the articles together or with partners at the rug or on comfy chairs to truly enjoy the experience. Their faces light up when they are able to make connections about math and their own interests. We check out the online components like the games and videos that really help bring this to life.
My class has really enjoyed learning about math in society and gaining a deeper appreciation for math and its many purposes in the world. My reluctant math learners even enjoy them. We couldn't have had these amazing resources without your generous help!”

Funded Oct 21, 2018Thank you so much for giving my students this amazing opportunity to bring math in the real world into their lives and in the classroom. They are starting to really see how useful math is in the world around us and realize how math is used in all aspects of our lives. I can definitely tell that their appreciation for math and how important it's impact is has grown significantly.
My students enjoy browsing the magazines and discussing the images and titles even before we read the articles. They're always excited when they see how math is connected to the things they enjoy in life, such as movies and animals, etc. We read our magazines together as a class and in pairs and my students especially loved when we watch the videos related to the articles on line.
My more reluctant math students love the games and the information they get about math and are actually excited about some of the math activities related to the articles . We couldn't have had these amazing resources without your generous help!”

Super Science! Super Scientists!
Funded Nov 8, 2017My students have really been enjoying their Super Science magazine subscriptions.
Many of them are excited to just be able to own these colorful magazines that are filled with such interesting nonfiction articles. They love being able to take them home and share with their families and know at the end of the day it's theirs to keep. Some have even shared that they like to read the articles with their parents or read them to their siblings.
These magazines have had a major impact on my class's ability to read and enjoy engaging nonfiction texts. In addition to teaching students about nonfiction text features and reading closely, the photos have led to great discussions, even encouraging my shyer students to participate. The multimedia integration of the magazine has brought the articles to life with the incorporation of videos for each article and On line games to assess comprehension and the differentiation available for the reading level of the magazine. My English Language Learners love that I can print the articles at an easier reading level to help them be more independent with reading. When you walk into my classroom and we are working on this, every student is truly engaged and learning.
My students look forward to working in their Super Science magazines every Friday. They like to preview the articles and discuss them with each other before we start reading them whole class. As you can see from the photos, these articles really keep them engaged and I find that they are more curious about the world and are realizing that even though they are children, they too can have an impact on the world and make a difference. They've really enjoyed reading about kids their age completing research to improve their own environments. Thank you for bringing nonfiction reading to life in my classroom and helping my students visit the world beyond their neighborhood.”
