Our school’s motto is, “Learning is the responsibility of all.” We expect faculty, staff, students, parents and our community to come together and work toward the common goal of providing a great education for each child. An important part of that education is the environment in which it occurs. As I continually work to provide a classroom that better meets the needs of all students it has come to my attention that not only my instruction needs to be differentiated, but also the learning environment in which that learning takes place. Alternative seating gives students increased freedom and choice over their education which enhances their satisfaction and motivation while learning. Students will have the added options of stability balls or wobble chairs in finding a seat that will best help them to learn and complete their work. These seating options will help students be active participants in their education and to take more responsibility for their learning. It will help them get a great start to their formative schooling years.
